Fast forward this Blu-ray to the film's climactic attack sequences and you'll be absolutely thrilled. The video quality is clean making this Lionsgate home entertainment release a pleasure to watch over and over again. Blu-Ray Pearl (Blu-ray) Trapped on her family's isolated farm, Pearl must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother. but what's interesting in hindsight is the genuine sense of risk (almost panic) that seemed to permeate the set -- no one seemed to have any idea whether or not this crazy idea for a movie-based-on-a-theme-park ride was gonna fly. When Pearl was announced the anticipation and expectation was for more of what was seen in X but the two films are vastly different and Pearl just doesn't hold one's attention the way X did.

As a backstory, it offers some insight into the fact that Pearl was a deranged serial killer in the making, but it never entirely reveals what caused her to snap. The included DTS HD Master Audio mix has a few moments where some muscle can be flexed, but by and large it’s a pretty straight-forward track.Even more miraculous, 'The Curse of the Black Pearl' is one of the few recent high-concept Hollywood insta-blockbusters that saw both critical and commercial love in equal measure -- the reviews were almost as good as the grosses. Low bass extends so deep that even with just a decent subwoofer you should be able to feel some serious impact. For more about Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Blu-ray release, see Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Blu-ray Review published by Greg Maltz on July 3, 2007 where this Blu-ray release scored 4. Titanic also suffered in this same way yet managed to include enough actual history to be a bit less controversial.

After you've finished, you can play back the mini-featurettes that relate to the specific gold coins you've selected. Pearl Harbor is outstanding from an audio standpoint with fantastic directional effects that deliver a stunning depth to the soundtrack.approach to Sparrow -- think a fey Keith Richards, mixed in with a bit of Pepe Le Pew -- caused major jitters with the higher-ups at Disney.

To hold us over Lionsgate is issuing a two-disc Blu-ray + DVD release of Pearl - a movie that by all means demands to be seen in 4K. Considering that the original releases of Curse of the Black Pearl on SD DVD were pretty feature-packed (in both two- and three-disc sets) it was quite nice that the studios bothered to make the Blu-ray release an equally feature-laden 2-disc set. The much more interesting aspect of the feature is the trivia track that runs throughout, which offers you some moderately engaging written facts about Pirate lore. Those who have seen X know that it took some inspiration from films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.Considering it's taken some people over 2 years to get a replacement, not bad for 10 days work really! Yet it is Depp's willingness to figuratively (and literally) walk the plank that keeps the rest of the film on its toes. Check out Dawn of the Disc's post below, as well as the full trailer for Pearl, hitting theaters on September 16.

I sent the whole package off as I wanted to keep the slipcase - which they wanted to see for some reason. In X, Goth delivered a sensational dual-role tour de force performance as two very different women; Maxine, an aspiring young porn actress dreaming of stardom and – via the miracle of heavy prosthetics – as Pearl, an octogenarian who yearns for youthful attention and who didn’t take too kindly to the porn film the youngsters were making at her dilapidated farmhouse. She’s at home on her farm with her cruel and controlling mother and her ailing father doesn’t appear to be long for this world. I'm certainly of the opinion that a film that focuses on an event in history as important as the attack on Pearl Harbor should pay a bit more attention to the actual people who lived out the experience and not try to "hollywood-ize" the events.

I always like this approach, because we get a first-person perspective from cast and crew, without all the hyperbole usually associated with a fawning EPK (aka, extended commercial). The effect isn't entirely consistent though, as there are many scenes in Hawaii where rich ocean hues and green landscapes defy the more monochromatic elements that are prevalent in the film.
