Riedel recommends that you use Miele dishwashers. These have been tested in the laboratory and found that Miele dishwashers give Riedel glasses a lifespan of 1500 washing cycles. This translates to a lifespan of over 20 years. Put to the test, we were initially impressed by the design. It’s made of lightweight crystal, making it both an aesthetically pleasing piece of glassware (it's ideal for gifting) as well as a functional one. With a 43-ounce capacity, the handmade Riedel decanter very comfortably fits a full standard bottle, with plenty of room for the wine to breathe. Its wide base allows the wine to spread out, which is ideal for decanting younger wines. The decanter was easy to fill but has a slightly narrower mouth. We also found that the straight-lipped rim allowed a bit of dripping after pouring.

If you’ve enjoyed a couple of bottles over the course of an evening, I recommend rinsing any leftover wine out of your decanter and upending a bottle of carbonated water (such as soda water) into the decanter to sit overnight. Rinse this out in the morning, with a steadier hand! The "Eve" carafe's distinctive shape suggests a serpent and not inadvertently of heavenly seduction. The designer produced the first hand-crafted decanter with a dual-chamber mechanism with Eve, guaranteeing that the wine is correctly aerated and supplied in the right amount. All Riedel glasses are born out of comparative tasting sessions (rather than on a drawing board), where a panel of judges vote on what shape they consider performs the best. Expert winemakers and sommeliers carefully analyse the experience of drinking wine in different shapes of glasses. The experience of carefully pouring a superb bottle of wine into a lovely decanter is a sensory overload. Use a Riedel Microfibre Polishing Cloth to dry and polish reachable areas of the decanter, for a perfect sparkling finish.

If you don’t already own accessories for your decanter, consider whether you want it to include a stopper, cleaning equipment, or a built-in or removable aerator. Some might find features like aerators or electronic decanting unnecessary, while others may appreciate their time-saving abilities. Each side's angled tips exactly line on a visual plane, providing a stark contrast to the smoothly curving belly. Who Should Buy It

It is vital to note that handling and storing the product contributes to its resiliency and longevity. Ease of HandlingIn addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the decanter aids in the reduction of sediment in the glass by allowing flavors and aromas to develop through greater air exposure. The item stands 12⅝ inches tall and carries 26½ ounces. Who Should Buy It Make sure your decanter is clean and dry before storing it. Decanters can be quite fragile, so store yours in a place where it cannot be accidentally disturbed—especially if you have children or pets in your home. An enclosed cabinet is ideal, with the added bonus of preventing your decanter from gathering dust. Make sure it’s easy for you to reach to avoid accidents when taking it out or putting it away. Store your decanter in a room with a consistent and moderate temperature, as glassware can break when exposed to dramatic shifts from hot to cold and vice versa. Getting the wine out of the decanter, however, can be a bit messy. Rabbit recommends leaving the aerator in place when pouring, but this is where the filter comes in, leading to a fair amount of dripping while pouring the wine into the glass. Consider whether you’d prefer a decanter that can go in the dishwasher safely or if you are okay with frequent handwashing and gentle care.

The RIEDEL Bottle Cleaner cannot be used with this product as they can become lodged and unable to be removed. The size, shape and construction of a wine glass does affect how you perceive the wine, both in its aroma and flavour profile and also mouthfeel. And since all wines are not the same in terms of their attributes, style and flavour, there is no one perfect wine glass which will show off every style of wine equally. Are you tired of repeatedly refilling your decanter as it can only contain a small amount of wine? The Performance Wine Decanter has the solution for you. This nice-looking decanter has a large volume capacity, making hosting drinking nights more convenient. This decanter allows sediment to rest and sink, purifying any older red wine . Even with a young, sediment-free wine, the decanter creates a lovely serving vessel since it accentuates the color of the wine. Decanters that are heavy or awkwardly shaped might look nice, but consider whether you might find them uncomfortable or difficult to pour from. Additionally, decanters with a curved lip tend to make less of a mess while pouring than those cut straight across the top.If you desire a classic cylinder decanter, Riedel’s Superleggero Decanter will surely match your luxurious taste. The engraved Riedel logo will set this decanter apart from other carafes. Best Riedel Decanters Buying Guide A decanter takes up valuable real estate in the kitchen or home bar, so if you’re going to have it on display and use it frequently, you’ll want something with visual appeal. If you have plenty of enclosed cabinet space and don’t decant wines often, this may be a lower priority.
