Would I eat them or serve them to my family? Nope. Not necessarily because they are unhealthy but more because there are better options out there. I’m pretty sure not many people are enjoying that every morning. I hate to say it but even though they are not the worst thing to eat nutritionally, I still think that these biscuits are targeted at the kind of people that buy their breakfasts from a petrol station. They also contain less fat per 100g than other biscuits. However, 30% Less Sugar Chocolate Chip biscuits are also worth considering since they are the lowest in sugar out of all Belvita biscuits (although they are still high in calories). Belvita biscuits won’t make you fat if the rest of your diet is good. They are, however, heavily processed and could lead to the consumption of more processed foods which could contribute to weight gain. I would have to say yes, these could be enjoyed as part of a healthy lifestyle… but then again, so can Dairy Milk and Mr Kipling Cherry Bakewells.

Apples and pears are free of saturated fat, sodium, and cholesterol: Pears and apples are naturally heart-healthy not only because of what they do contain, but also because of what they don’t—namely saturated fat, sodium, and cholesterol, which may all be harmful to heart health in large amounts. Soft Bakes Filled Apricot launches this month and both Fruit Crunch flavours will hit shelves on 1 September. But the amount of these beneficial nutrients is not that much and won’t make much difference to your health. Can Belvita biscuits help you lose weight?Breakfast biscuit brand Belvita is launching three new non-HFSS biscuit bars, including Fruit Crunch Raisin & Currant, Fruit Crunch Apple & Pear, and Soft Bake Apricot flavours. They’re made without high-fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils, artificial flavours or sweeteners… They fill you up: Pears and apples are both rich in two things that fill your belly and keep you fuller longer: fluid and fiber. These fruits are particularly rich in soluble fiber, which slow digestion—which may help you avoid overeating (and gaining weight!). There would be further room for improvement away from these biscuits but it would be a step in the right direction. Let’s start with the ingredients. Alarm bells start ringing when you look at the ingredients list of Belvita biscuits. I tried the Milk and Cereals biscuit with around 20 ingredients in it.

There are slight variations in the ingredients across the different BelVita products with the range including Crunchy, Soft Baked, Duo Crunch, etc. The new launches contained “Belvita’s trademark wholegrains” and were “a natural source of fibre and magnesium”, said Lucas. They’re key to a heart-healthy diet: Fruits like apples and pears are mainstays of a heart-healthy plan. The American Heart Association actually recommends getting 4-5 servings of fruit a day, and each medium Stemilt apple or pear counts as one of those servings. The bottom line is, if you care about your health you wouldn’t want to eat these biscuits every day but having them as an occasional treat as part of a healthy and balanced diet is totally acceptable. According to a study conducted by Harvard Medical School, the more fruits and veggies you can incorporate into your diet, the better. Some of the top fruit contenders include apples, pears, oranges, and other citrus fruits. What should we know about apples and heart health? They contain “fruit and fibre ingredients with a crunchy texture” and weigh in at under 100 calories per biscuit. It is launching two HFSS-compliant Fruit Crunch biscuit bars in Raisin & Currant and Apple & Pear flavours.
