I'd really love to be able to watch this inside my VR headset on a giant private virtual cinema screen in full stereoscopic 3D.

I would have preferred storyboards, artwork and a making of documentary with the Animators, Nintendo and Director. Thing is, many, many people are very familiar with Mario and probably get a little thrill out of that as well. As for coming to streaming it is coming to streaming because almost every movie comes to streaming services 90 days after release at the theaters. Spectrum TV has also apparently listed the Mario Movie as being available "on demand" on the same date. They were shot and edited entirely digitally, before finally transfering to film once complete, to get that "look" of adding the grain, softness and difference in colour range.I bought the Lord of the Rings trilogy special edition that each had 4 DVDs, two for the movies (extended edition) and the other two filled with hours of pure extra content. Keep in mind, nothing has been officially confirmed by Universal, Illumination or Nintendo just yet. Salazar’s Revenge looks great in 4K, the other ones look and sound much better on standard 1080p Blu-ray, except On Stranger Tides, which looks outright amazing in Blu-ray 3D).

RetroGames Yeah, as a big Mario and Nintendo fan I'd say it's a 9/10 because of those issues, but close to a 10/10 for me too as my only personal gripe is that it's short and I wanted to see even more of it, watched it in Italian once day one alone and once with my sister and her boyfriend later since they hadn't watched it yet and can't wait to rewatch it at least once in English and once in Japanese when the DVDs come out (or if I find it elsewhere before, but still getting those for collection regardless)! Some have even said it doesn't look particularly good, which is completely and utterly absurd, as it's literally displaying some of the most beautiful 3D visuals ever rendered in an animated movie and indeed some of the best animation ever seen in an animated movie--and I'm saying that as a professional artist and animator. The only reason people gave it attention was they were desperate for entertainment during lockdowns.Movie and while the marketing campaign has certainly stepped up a gear (often in weird boot-focussed ways), that hasn't stopped the odd leak from slipping through.
