Description

It is one of Diageo's sixteen "strategic brands" earmarked for prioritisation in promotion and distribution worldwide. [1] History [ edit ] Williams, Olivia (2014). Gin glorious gin: how mother's ruin became the spirit of London. London: Headline Publishing Group. ISBN 978-1-4722-1534-5.

Tanqueray Rangpur Lime Gin features the four signature botanicals of their Tanqueray London Dry Gin as a base. They then add three new ones: bay leaves, ginger and the aforementioned Rangpur Lime. Tasting NotesTanqueray Rangpur Gin was introduced in Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2006. It has a strong citrus flavor, the result of rangpur limes, ginger, and bay leaves added during the final distillation process. It is produced at 82.6 proof (41.3% abv) and is now available throughout the United States and Canada. It is named after city of Rangpur from where the names of the citrus also came.

What was once a once-off in 2006, Tanqueray Rangpur is now readily available across the United States, even in 2020. Aroma: Orange with facets of white grapefruit pith dominates; however, some signature Tanqueray botanicals are present beneath it. Hints of licorice, angelica and juniper. Nose: Lime dominates the fore— and although the rangpur is not a lime, the nose is decidedly lime-like. Juniper and a hint of traditional Tanqueray licorice and spice lie beneath. Quite nice.It was first made in 2006 by adding Rangpur limes, an exotic citrus fruit from India, to Tanqueray London Dry Gin. This created the exotic flavour of zesty lime and juicy mandarin oranges, with a hint of ginger and bay leaves. Tanqueray Malacca Gin was introduced in 1997 as a "wetter" alternative to the London Dry, with more sweetness and a stronger fruit palate (most notably grapefruit). Discontinued in 2001, Diageo announced on 12 December 2012 (12/12/12) [8] [ unreliable source?] that a 16,000-case limited edition of Tanqueray Malacca would be relaunched in the US, Great Britain, Canada and Western Europe for February 2013. [9] Hayes, Annie (11 July 2017). "Tanqueray outperforms Beefeater for first time in 2016". The Sprits Business . Retrieved 25 September 2020. Tanquery Gin was first distilled almost 200 years ago, in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray. Over the years, it has become one of the highest-selling gins in the world. This gin also has the privilege of being a Royal Warrant Holder, appointed by Her Majesty the Queen. Flavor: Slightly sweet in impression and quite citrus forward. The citrus is complex and could be described as having hints of lemon, tangerine and even grapefruit. Green juniper with slight pine facets comes in late. Hints of laurel, coriander and licorice round it out.

The Rangpur is an exotic citrus that has the zestiness of lime and the juiciness of mandarin oranges. Rangpur, ginger and bay leaves are added to Tanqueray's base of four botanicals during distillation, resulting in an easy-drinking gin with a citrus twist Tanqueray Rangpur Distilled Gin is a zesty gin, distilled four times to ensure quality. Rangpur limes are added to create flavours of juicy lime and mandarin oranges, with a hint of ginger. In 2021 Tanqueray launched a non-alcoholic variety of the original called Tanqueray 0.0 , bottled at 0.0%abv. [10]Tanqueray No. Ten Gin (47.3%) was introduced in 2000 and is targeted at the martini market. [7] It is distilled four times with whole fresh grapefruit, orange, lime and chamomile flowers Just like the label states, this gin is distilled four times. There are two different types of water used in the process, adding a more significant profile to the flavors. One water is extracted from a deep well on the distillery grounds, the other is demineralized water. The two blended together mirror the London water originally used in distilling. Tanqueray Rangpur is best enjoyed in a copa glass with premium tonic water, plenty of ice and a generous wedge of lime. While the gin is distilled multiple times, it is done so using the “one-shot” method, a rare process outside of boutique distilleries. One-Shot distilling requires more stills than other processes. The gin starts as a neutral spirit, then botanicals are steeped. Before bottling, the distiller adds water to cut the spirit, making it the proper proof. Playing host? Our range of flavoured gins is sure to get the party started. Whether you prefer a classic dry gin or want to add some colour with pink gin, we’ve got a wide variety to choose from. Just some of the flavours we offer include summery strawberry, peach and mango.

In this review of Tanqueray, you’ll learn all about this spirit, including the following topics (use the links below to “jump” to a specific section): In accordance with a report by The Spirits Business, Tanqueray was the highest selling gin in the world for 2016, with nearly three million nine-litre cases sold. [5] Products [ edit ] Tanqueray London Dry, Rangpur, and No. Ten Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla accomplishes exactly what it set out to do: celebrate the flavor of Seville Orange while retaining enough of the signature notes of Tanqueray London Dry Gin to be recognizable not just as a gin— but as a member of the Tanqueray family of gins. While you could mix up a Martini or Negroni with it, I feel like it isn’t Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla’s best showing. It is a bold mixing gin that is designed to be center stage with not much fussiness to it. Overall, Tanqueray Flor de SevillaInspired by Charles Tanqueray´s innovative spirit, Tanqueray Rangpur Distilled Gin was created in 2006. It has won many awards including Gold at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition
