The only downside I have found so far, is that the nib isn't as fine as you may expect - tested against Rotring fineliners, the line width is somewhere in the range of .

So if you already have fountain pens like a Century 3776 or a sailor 1911, you really don't need these pens. Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. This pen has only a very slight ball so the line feels and looks pretty crisp yet it is also smooth. Had I never had my first ever “posh pen” which was the MB Starwalker Mystery Black, it would have to have been a 10. I would like to ask you wich one you would suggest to me, considering that I never worked with this kind of pen.For those that like to use watercolors after laying down links, it’s not as the wash will cause the lines to run.

Perhaps using the converter with a fountain-pen safe waterproof ink may offer a solution for watercolorists. Never used the converter with it, despite getting one to try it, it just worked perfectly so left it alone. With a broad–angled tip, it can be rotated to draw thick or thin lines, just like its analogue predecessor.

To be fair, this is more down to the user than the pen and was easily avoided when the strokes were made with more attention. It’s not super flexible but you will see some line variation when you draw normally with a little pressure. Get this pen or the cheaper DP-1000AN if you want to explore drawing with really needlepoint crisp lines. Although taking this pen apart was quite similar to the Carbon Desk Pen, I had to use a hairdryer and a lot of grip and strength to unscrew the front section of the pen. I wasn't too fussy about looks, I did think it was a little bland, but quite attractive in a quirky way compared to fountain pens of the time, but what upped the score was the fact it was quite slender, sleek and old fashioned (I thought it looked like an old fashioned dip pen).

Additionally make sure your User-Agent is not empty and is something unique and descriptive and try again. If you're running a script or application, please register or sign in with your developer credentials here. The one thing I wonder about is the clip - why on earth does the thing even have a clip, I can't imagine where it can be useful with this size. Have only ever cleaned it or flushed it when changing inks and then only with water, other than that it just gets to stay inked. But since the ink is fast drying and waterproof, there is a chance that it will eventually clog the channel of the pen. The section looks like it could be painful to grip but the pen is light and does not require a tight hold to control it.

Again, I suspect this was to model the pen on dip pens or quills but that main body of the pen (the bit you hold) is a comfortable 10mm in diameter so it’s wide enough where it matters. I added some water after the initial drawing had dried to see how much the lines were affected by a wet brush. Artpens are modern fountain pens, but their elegant design preserves the feel and balance of traditional dip pens. I like both, the DP-1000AN has crisp lines but a slightly scratchy nib and the Rotring has wider lines but a very smooth nib. The lines are clean and distinct, but smooth enough on the edges for even new users to be comfortable with. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. I just wanted to congratulate for your good and deep review for those three pens; I also wanted to ask if you know how would that Platinum KDP-3000 compare to the Platinum 3776 UEF in regards of line thinness? Do this carefully The feed looks different from the Carbon Desk Pen and there is an inner part (not seen here) of the feed that cannot be removed. The Lyra Art Pen is a superb, artist quality tool for allcolouring techniques, artistic drawing and sketches.
