Description

Mine a Million or The Business Game is a 1965 board game for 2-6 players [1] previously published by Waddingtons. This illustrates nicely what this game is good at: forcing the players into intricate and difficult balancing acts between competing goals. When a player rolls a one or a six, in addition to producing a unit (or units), they also receive a card.

Barges can carry more ore than a lorry and the canal spaces they move through mean they have a shorter route to the warehouse than lorries do, and they can also sail across the sea to sell your ore for dollars. Yeah, you can lose arms and legs, there are spinning floor blades and pit traps, lootable containers on the board. Essentially complete apart from some missing ‘gems’ (there should be 15 in each colour but blue and white are missing one each, red and green missing 2 each. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).com Limited is an Appointed Representative of Compare The Market Limited who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The playing board appears to be made of Bakelite and small wooden sticks are used to keep track of your plays. The game consists of a playing board, 12 mine derricks (2 of each of 6 colours), 6 lorries, 5 barges, 2 ships, 90 pyramids (15 of each of 6 colours), 94 cubes (24 of each of 6 colours), 26 Production Cards, 6 Canal Company Title Deeds, 2 Production Debit Cards, 1 die and paper money comprising sterling and dollars. Those very random events can hurt really badly because of this, when you’ve worked hard for a full 150 minutes only to be denied victory by a particularly unfortunate turn of fate it’s not much fun.

They are also considerably more expensive, and incapable of travelling inland to the mines; instead players must first transport their units to the central warehouse, from where ships can begin their journey. Also if you look at that gamefound, it's easy to be deceived---the actual gameplay portions are not cheap but aren't over the top expensive.
