Jealousy can be a positive thing. It’s usually a signal of exactly we want for ourselves: What we are jealous of. Even if it’s the ambition to get the thing. boys get talked to more about making money and investing while girls are talked to about saving money and being careful with it. Lots of sweeping generalizations like “boys get paid more money than girls for doing the same chores at home.” Books by life coaches turned authors do not normally appeal to me, but a few trusted resources mentioned this book, so I gave it a try despite being turned off by everything about it at first glance. Rachel started her career working on The Hill with nonprofits, federal judges, and iconic leaders including Hillary Clinton. When she realized that changing the world is a lot easier when you have some cash in your bank account, she decided to become wealthy and teach other women how to do the same. There’s also too much bootstrap mentality in this. And again, I could forgive this if she didn’t specifically try to cater to all demographics by explicitly saying this is for everyone, including the generationally working class. It clangs and it drowns the really wonderful messages (you can control your dignity, you can control how you speak to yourself).

My favorite idea in the book is that women being told to scrimp and save is not only sexist but the sl We Should All Be Millionaires details a realistic, achievable, step-by-step path to creating the support, confidence, and plan you need to own your success and become the millionaire the world needs you to be. Confession: This was a book club read, and I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did. It was a happy surprise! Delegate one task on your to-do list to someone (or something) else. Delegate to a family member, roommate, friend or an app like TaskRabbit. Clear something off your plate. Dog-walking, dinner-cooking, vacation-planning. Anything, big or small."That being said, I've read enough books at this point to be past the "ladies, we can do this" phase and am much deeper into the "let's talk specifics" part of my journey. This book is definitely more of a book to start out with, and one that I think nascent entrepreneurs would benefit from, moreso than where I'm at.

Below are some of the highlights, but I encourage you to get yourself a copy of the book to mark up and benefit from the details and the high energy. Especially useful are the various tables throughout that offer contrasting “million-dollar” alternatives to existing mindsets, decision patterns, and boundary issues. It’s about (million-dollar) time

Why most of the financial advice you've heard in the past (like "skip your daily latte to save money") is absolute, patriarchal nonsense. Big picture view: The world would look different if women had more money and more power. For a better world, sure, but she also wants us to have lots of money for the things we want for ourselves and our families. And for more time, energy, joy, and peace of mind. For freedom. An easy-to-use Guide to my money management system, and instructions on how to spend time proactively reviewing your money every single week. Earning a million dollars requires a lot more than just 'a positive mindset.' This book is an honest, realistic, and inspiring look at what it really takes to become an extremely high-earning woman. Rachel Rodgers will give you a million-dollar attitude with a bank account to match.'
