Description

Preparation Of Used Moulds - All traces of adherent material either concrete or previous oil deposits must be removed prior to use. Moulds previously used with Dr.S.Bond Shuttering Oil will require only light brushing as the presence of fine dust will improve the wetting out properties of Dr.S.Bond Shuttering Oil. This will usually result in improved release properties on the second and subsequent uses of the mould.

For getting the best results, it should be made sure that the inside surface is free from impurities. Produces a high quality stain and blemish free concrete finish with minimum incidence of blow holes.Shuttering oil (also called Formwork oil) is a high-quality mineral oil that applies to the inner surface of formwork before concreting. It is also known as form or mould release agent. Shuttering, also known as formwork, is one of the most critical aspects of any concrete project. It provides the mold into which concrete is poured and subsequently cured. Done correctly, shuttering ensures that your concrete base is of the desired shape, dimensions, and finish. However, any mistake in this process can lead to structural weaknesses, cosmetic issues, or costly repairs. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of setting up shuttering for a concrete base the right way. Planning & Design Determine the Dimensions Among all, timber is the most commonly used material for the framework. However, the big disadvantage associated with a timber frame is that it has a tendency to warp, swell and shrink. Application/ Composition: Shuttering Oil is used straight from the drum and no stirring or mixing is required. Shuttering Oil is applied by spraying guns, rollers or by brushes prior to pouring aerated concrete and are recommended for use as a concrete mould release agent with the protection of moulds fromrust. Typical Properties:

In the case of wooden formwork, shuttering oil prevents water absorption from concrete by the wooden formwork. In all cases, the formwork must be sturdy and capable of bearing the not inconsiderable forces created by wet concrete, plus the weight and force of any vibration equipment. Any joints in the formwork should be taped or sufficiently tight to prevent matrix leaking out during vibration and/or curing. The tops of any shutter or roadform should be set so as to provide an accurate edge from which the tamper or beam screed can operate. The performance of shuttering oil is largely dependent on the type of formwork that is being used. For wooden formwork, straight refined, pale, paraffin-based mineral oil and oil-phase emulsion have been successfully used. The oil that is chosen should be capable of penetrating the wood to some extent while leaving the surface slightly greasy to touch.

Use string lines or marking paint to outline the area where the concrete will be poured. Make sure the lines are straight and at right angles to ensure a perfect shape. Step 3: Cutting and Assembling the Boards Our consistent commitment to quality, here at DANA has ensured that we deal in oil that is well compliant with all the international safety standards and also provides superior results (providing a good surface finish) Applications of shuttering oil
