Description

As the name might suggest, the difference between the R-41M and R-51M lies in size and power. Although we haven’t had the chance to test the R-51M, those who fancy the R-41M but are looking for something more powerful and not limited by space might want to consider the R-51M instead. Design

Over 1000 points around the speaker were measured (from 20 to 20 kHz) which resulted in well under 1% error in identification of the sound field emanating from the speaker up to about 18 kHz. Above that the error increases slightly. Final database of measurements and data is 1.4 Gigabytes in size. You might find better options if you are looking for more controls such as the Sony SSCS5 OR Polk T15. But these speakers are made of premium quality materials so they will continue to perform for a long time to come. Klipsch R51M With a sensitivity of 90dB and power handling of 200 watts, these speakers can handle even the most demanding audio setups, delivering clear and distortion-free sound at high volumes. But when we talk about R51M speakers, we will see that the 340W speakers are huge. The dimensions of these speakers are 13.3-inch x 7-inch x 8.5-inch and the speaker weighs aloof 10 pounds. While the R-41M has a frequency range of 68 Hz – 21 kHz, the Polk T15’s frequency range is 48 Hz – 40 kHz, meaning the latter can reproduce lower frequencies and give you a more robust bass performance. The built-in amplifier module can provide 35 watts of output power, with a total power of 70 watts for the two-channel. The instantaneous peak output can climb to as much as 140 watts. The Connections Add more bass to the R-41Ms with a matching subwoofer, or team them with other Klipsch Reference speakers for high-impact home theater. HIGH FREQUENCY DRIVER: 1” (2.5cm) Aluminum diaphragm compression driver mated to 90° x 90° square Tractrix horn

Carefully tweaking these speakers' positions (height, rake, and toe), their imaging in stereo mode is excellent, with precise sound stage, good depth, and better than expected transparency. I listen to them at an average SPL of 67 dBA/73 dBC at a distance of 4.7 feet. This doesn't stress my ears or the equipment and allows for distortionless headroom, peaking up to around 100 dB. The R-41M also uses the Klipsch proprietary LTS tweeter driver, which minimizes sound distortion and increases sound quality. The tweeters consist of 1-inch aluminum.

Product highlights:

SLEEK, CONTEMPORARY APPEARANCE - Exposed fasteners and low profile magnetic grilles give the speakers a polished, modern appearance. Additionally, the grills present on these speakers are magnetic. You can conveniently remove them if you want the more sleek and stylish copper look of these speakers on display. If You want the kind of low-frequency impact, don’t hesitate to buy a subwoofer and turn it into a 2.1-channel system. But if you are like me, you usually listen to music while working, only a pair of R-41PM can meet your needs, and there is no need for an external amplifier!

You should also note that the speakers are designed for listening in line with the drivers. Pros and Cons ProsWhile many speaker manufacturers have shifted to more modern speaker design styles, the Klipsch has stayed with what is classic. As you would expect from a member of the Klipsch Reference series, the sound is much bigger and fuller than you’d expect from such tiny speakers. And with just an increase in overall output, they also get a bigger size and that increases the prize. So primarily you are paying more for better output power, cleaner mids and highs, and overall a better listening experience for audio enthusiasts. If you can’t stretch the budget to go for something like a Klipsch RP-500SA, then the R51M is a great option. Size Klipsch R41M In the world of audio, what you are paying for is what you get. That’s why it can be hard to get affordable speakers for living spaces that don’t sound terrible. Especially so when it comes to larger pieces like bookshelf speakers. Compared with R41M, you will see that Klipsch has equipped with R51M quite a significant power boost. These speakers come with a total of 340W power output.
