Description

I can see that if the reviewers were using frozen pie dough, it might be thicker than frozen puff pastry and might need to be rolled out extra thin before using.

Thanks to the handy ‘power-on’ and ‘ready’ light indicators on this non-stick coated double pie maker, you won’t have to wait around for the smell of burnt butter to know that it’s time to get cooking.I was amazed to read that people though the four pie was too small, I find mine, the eight pie perfect! They bake pies, tarts and quiches, and there's no end to the possibilities – once you've tested all the old favourites, how about something a little more adventurous or a sweet filling for afters? Another 4 different pie maker recipes followed (on the same day) and now I just can’t stop using the cheapest kitchen gadget I have ever owned. If you need just 4 pies for dinner, then why not make 8 and then you can freeze the other 4 for next time you are cooking? Your pie is now ready to go and it’s a simple step of plugging in the pie maker, placing the lid down and cooking your pies.

Some sources believe the word ‘pie’ derives from ‘magpie’ – a bird known for collecting odd bits and bobs to create a cosy nest.

I’m all for the convenience of having an almost instant apple pie, but I strongly recommend using homemade pie dough for the crusts with this appliance for best results. so when we saw that this gadget claimed to make a pie in minutes, we figured it was too good to be true—but we wanted to be proven wrong! The pie maker recipe below uses the same beef and Guinness filling as that for my Classic Meat Pies.
