We have been able to create a truly outstanding collection of beautiful brushes that are for everyone – whether you’re new to makeup, a seasoned pro, or an MUA yourself, Hannah’s collection of vegan brushes contains every brush you could ever need to create your best beauty looks yet. I love these for speedy make-up as their sheer nature is simply quicker and easier to apply than a more pigmented foundation that may require a bit more care and diligence. What worries me is these young people slather themselves in thick make-up, but maybe don’t know how best to remove it. She shares everything you need to know about from skincare routine to prepping the skin, concealer, foundation, powders, bronzers, blushers, lipstick, and gloss, eye shadow, liner, mascara, and everything in between. But I make it really clear this is playtime – I don’t want to instill in her an idea that she (or mummy) has to wear make-up to beautiful, I spend a lot of time make-up free.

In February 2020, Hannah joined Channel 5's revamped '10 Years Younger in 10 Days' series as their resident beauty expert. All too often I’m shown pictures of people with completely different colouring and features so I’ve learnt to ask my brides, alongside these inspiration images, to show me a picture of themselves that they really like so together we can identify what exactly made them feel most beautiful and incorporate that into their wedding day look. That doesn’t mean to say I manage it every day, in fact it’s rare that I ever do the school run in make-up! However, Martin may have talked me into coming round to the occasional dusting of the stuff to set my makeup. I always have a few Ultra Fine Liner Brushes from Bobbi Brown as they’re brilliant for tight lining.

The young women they maybe look up to – in our day it might’ve been Pussycat Dolls, now it might be Little Mix – it’s full Bratz Doll make-up.

Blotting papers are a great addition so you can blot away any oil before powdering or a great alternative for those not wanting to wear too much powder. Since taking her advice, my skin looks — and most importantly to me — feels more hydrated throughout the entire day without my makeup just slipping right off.

Not long before meeting with Martin, I dyed my hair from blond to vibrant copper-red, which left me scared of putting any kind of colour on my face, especially lipstick. Products like the iconic Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, or By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder, are great for setting the skin around the T-zone. Sometimes a powder isn’t necessary, but I’ll usually buff in a liner with a dark powder shadow to create a softer, smokier finish.

Take them to the place they love the most, the beauty hall, and get the make-up artist to speak to them. My daughter loves it, she’s got a wooden playset, a few old bits of mine and she enjoys putting it on herself and me. I have a few favourites: La Mer Treatment Lotion, Shiseido Treatment Softener and BioEffect EGF Essence… adore! Lip balm and your lip products and I say balm because it can feel really nasty to layer lipstick onto dry lips and trust me - excitement, nerves and champagne can all contribute to dry mouths so I suggest you have a balm so you can take your lipstick off, rehydrate then reapply so your lips look fresh and plump and gorgeous.I’ve spoken to young people and shown them how to do various bits of make-up in a way I feel is more flattering.

I've also worked with brides who’ve had fake tans for the first time a day or so beforehand and haven’t liked the shade. Although I adore wearing make-up, I’m happy just applying my skincare and SPF and go base-free these days, which I rarely did in my twenties. Martin suggested I was going wrong by using a shimmery loose setting powder all over my face, which was not only a messy to use but also made me look even more like a disco ball. However, after some gentle convincing, Martin showed me that it's all in choosing the correct shade. If you’re doing it yourself, there is a wealth of bridal make-up information out there, from make-up artists on Instagram to YouTubers to, of course, excellent Vogue wedding articles featuring aspirational brides and ways to emulate elements of their look. It’s funny, otherwise I have a baby face – people often assume I’m younger than I am and I get “You don’t look old enough to have children” a lot when I talk about my kids, who are nearly 8 and 3. Hailed as the queen of radiant skin and smoky eye tutorials on YouTube, she's now bringing you the ultimate guide to flawless makeup in her new book MAKEUP. My advice to brides is to avoid doing anything too experimental or far removed from your normal look. Follow with an eye cream and then a mid-weight moisturiser, like Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base, or Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream Light.
