Truth be told upfront, if you don’t intend to make tall, narrow models with a Delta printer and only seek to create other types of regular models, take into thought very closely the small build platform when buying this hunk of metal. However, all this doesn’t imply that you can forget about printing with such a filament using a Delta printer, no. Files are sliced in Cura just like any other printer, then are transferred to the V400 via the Moonraker plugin, dragging and dropping into Mainsail, or by using the supplied USB drive. PROS

Another aspect of use is that the touch screen interface is actually hosted on an Android mobile phone that connects to the machine through Bluetooth. The heated bed temperature caps out at 110-degrees, while the extruder temperature can reach 270-degrees. This makes the FLSUN Q5 perfectly suitable for PLA, ABS, HIPS, and TPU prints as advertised. Print quality is right where you’d expect at this price point, although more complex objects don’t come out as clean as we’d like; nevertheless, overall, we’d characterize the printing experience as good. I printed more than a dozen test objects with the Mini Delta V2, and it consistently produced quality ranging from passable to good. (The only misprint came when the small filament coil that Monoprice includes came off the filament spool holder and got tangled—this would not have happened if I had reseated it on the filament holder.) I did one of the prints, a 3DBenchy test object, at Normal (150-micron) resolution and the rest—including a second 3DBenchy—in slightly coarser Draft mode (200-micron resolution). Quality differences between the two 3DBenchys were minimal.

Within the last decade, FDM 3D printers have transformed from expensive, industrial machines, and become cheap 3D printers you can fit on your desktop and print with ease for just a few hundred dollars. The RepRap movement spurred these innovations, and now a variety of Chinese companies have further expanded on these low cost printers to make 3D printing more accessible than ever before. Delta 3D printers are known for their exceptionally fast printing speeds. The FLSUN Q5 prints at speeds of up to 120 mm / s. Utilizing 3D printer time most efficiently is much easier once you start batch printing parts to maintain 3D printer uptime and minimize downtime. Browse All 3D Printers Clear Filters Many 3D printers are equipped with a Bowden extruder because it ensures high printing speeds and, in contrast to a direct drive extruder, applies less weight to the moving hot end. But Flsun has created something unique with the V400: the hotend and the extruder have been combined, resulting in a particularly compact and lightweight system. They probably succeed in bringing one of the lightest and at the same time fastest direct-drive extruders onto the market! These might be slower than Delta printers but that’s all for good reason- terrific print quality. Models are known to have smooth texture with clear definitions- quality traits that are highly desired in the 3D printers of today. It also features a high-strength lattice coated print bed heavily inspired by Anycubic’s much-loved Ultrabase, which does wonders to offer firm adhesion for prints and stable temperatures alongside effortless removal of completed prints. If the print is stopped or paused, such as because of a power outage, it can resume printing from the exact layer. If you’re printing a 40-hour print, and risk having to start again from a print failure, this feature is absolutely essential. The filament detector also informs you and stops printing when you run out so that prints never fail. For starters, the stepper motor that amounts to all the weight on the moving part is fixed, and the tool head is exempt from any attachments. This makes a CoreXY 3D printer print at unbelievable speeds while catering to quality in every possible way. Most slicers and printers meet in a one size fits all approach, and to be honest, you don't really have an option to approach the likes of supports and structures in any other way. A commonly cited downside of delta printers is relatively poor print quality—if you will, the price of their speed. Overall print quality for the Mini Delta V2 was mediocre. Although it generally did well in printing detail, layers on the tops of prints were often ropy and underhangs rather gnarly, often with a bit of loose filament hanging down from them. A couple of prints proved brittle, with intricate parts breaking off, although my using several third-party PLA filaments, each with slightly different qualities and characteristics, may have played some role in this. This was unavoidable, as the printer only ships with a small starter roll—only enough, in my case, to print three small objects.
