Description

To put the Aspire Vero to the test, we’ve run a variety of productivity, graphics, and display benchmark tests to see if you’re getting your money’s worth from this green machine.

Acer’s TNR (Temporal Noise Reduction) Solution produces high-quality imagery even in low-light conditions. Credit to Acer's TrueHarmony feature, which uses high-quality speaker magnets to produce high flux for more realistic sound reproduction. The chassis and screen bezel use 30% recycled hardware, and the screen and keycaps use 99% and 50% recycled material respectively. If you want anything slimmer or lighter without compromising on screen size, you’ll have to spend significantly more.inch laptops recently, so I added a trio of 14-inch midrange laptops to a pair of 15 inchers for performance comparisons. The Aspire Vero features everything you'd expect of a premium laptop, with a 13th gen Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, 1TB storage and a 15. Finally, we use a Datacolor SpyderX Elite calibrator to measure the display's color coverage (in three popular gamuts or color spaces) and brightness. In this test, the Aspire Vero performed the worst, tapping out at 8 hours and 24 minutes, 42 minutes before the next in line, the XPG Xenia 14. The Core i5 Vero is a solid everyday machine and the Core i7 rig handles tougher creative and programming tasks, but neither is suitable for gaming.

Acer claims that this machine has been through the same durability tests as its conventional machines, but the Vero doesn’t feel strong. Multi-level keyboard backlighting would be more useful for matching the strength of the ambient light, and it would be more eco-friendly because you could keep it a dimmer setting to lessen the laptop’s energy consumption. It can be strongly recommended to anyone seeking a general-purpose 15in laptop and who isn’t oblivious to the impending eco-catastrophe. My review machine has an international keyboard and a 512GB SSD but is otherwise the same as a UK-spec i7 model. The main compromise here is the screen, which isn’t hugely bright and has quite poor colour reproduction in its class.

That was also true during the Cinebench R23 benchmark, another multi-core test meant to exercise all of a processor's cores and threads.

Established in 2010, Laptop Outlet is one of the UK’s leading tech retailers, offering new and refurbished tech devices, including laptops, smartphones, PCs, tablets, accessories, and much more. The speaker system, thankfully, was more impressive with ample volume, good definition and even a little bass.Acer has tried to lower those costs a little with the Aspire Vero – here’s our Acer Aspire Vero review. This can lower the carbon footprint of its manufacture and offers a way to use some of the plastic waste we’re frequently told ends up in places where you hope it wouldn’t be. On our 3D graphics benchmark, the Aspire Vero again finished second but this time behind the MSI Prestige. Still, the Vero is not the front-runner when it comes to many of these statistics – even if other companies don’t necessarily boast about it. Don’t worry, Intel’s Core i7 and Iris Xe stickers are still here — flip the product over, and you’ll find them on the bottom.

The Samsung has marginally better gamut ability alongside a 325-nit brightness level, so it’s noticeably better. If we take it as read that rampant consumerism is ruining our environment then making laptops out of partly recycled plastic isn’t going to have any significant impact on the problem. You also get a 512GB SSD, which gives you plenty of space for all your documents, media, and files without compromising on performance. Still, this is a notebook for a generalist, not a specialist; no one should expect to do any serious gaming or workstation-style visual rendering or video editing here. The laptop itself is made of partially recycled plastic, and the Vero also comes with a bespoke control panel that can be used to change the performance settings between Performance, Balanced, Eco and Eco+ with a view to maximising uptime and minimising power consumption.Intel’s 11th Gen processors are good enough for video editing, for just about any everyday productivity job we could mention. The first graphics benchmark we run is the 3DMark benchmark, a graphics test suite for Windows that contains several subtests for different GPU functions and software APIs. Much of the Acer Aspire Vero’s body uses PCR, or Post-Consumer Recycled material, and Acer is quick to boast about the amount of second-hand stuff inside this notebook.
