Some people mod their HE6SE by removing the grille covering the drivers, but I have not tried it, and it is not a part of the review. I had the HEXV2 and the LCD2C around with the HE6SE, so I can only compare to these headphones with confidence. Unashamedly clean and resolving without being bright, the overall linearity from lows to highs is highly enjoyable. In any case I would suggest to you to use the headphones at the lowest volume possible which still allows you to hear music correctly. I wasn’t paid or asked to say anything good or bad about this product, all of the above is just my personal, unbiased opinion.

You should stick until the Sound Quality part of the review though, because even though HE6Se ain't so comfy, it still managed to get a ton of head time for me. With the Feliks Audio Euforia, which has been said to have a lighter bass quality, the HE6se V2 has balanced bass, but the slam is present, impactful, and enjoyable. The cable is not handy at all; it feels like some medical equipment which other reviewers have also mentioned. g. have more bass, or sub-bass, or treble, or whatever), or if you think that more power will make them change in any significant way… then think again, and think harder. Of course, you'll need to complete the setup with an additional DAC and Amplifier, and something capable of driving HE6SE at that, but there are a few options out there.

This all comes at the cost of the headphone sounding a tad bright and cold, but this works really well for rock and metal, and you never feel like your music lacks presence.

Maybe we should just do away with the term “unboxing experience” and stick to things that matter like good accessories… I can get behind that. You don’t need to get to 100 dB to appreciate this: just a bit over 75 dB you have plenty of volume and dynamics.HEXV2 treble is even more airy and more natural and I imagine Ananda and Arya would be the same, both for considerably less money than the HE6SE. The comments about physicality also apply to the midrange, which – if anything – seems to be even more physical, as Inks by Aes Dana shows. I actually don’t remember what gain I was using, but I think it was the lowest one with the Topping DX7 set to DAC mode (so with max volume). The HE6se V2 might be considered an upgrade to other neutral, "mid-fi" headphones like the Sennheiser HD 600. I put these in my ears, set the volume correctly, put the headphones on over the in ears, put the music on and press record.

It’s an experience that takes you to another dimension, if just for a little while, making you forget of everything else. Lows: The HE6SE are not a bass monster but what they have on their side is speed, agility and detail. And if you know any of my previous reviews, you know I love to listen loud, in fact so loud, that something like Ananda Bluetooth is one of the very few BT headphones that gets close to my needs in terms of loudness when it comes to Bluetooth headphones. Knock off a few more hundred and just give me the drivers held together with a metal coat hanger with a sock wrapped around it. That’s mostly because HiFiMAN chose to go with the same headband as the one used on its entry level model – except that this one costs 10 times as much and is a tad heavier. In all that insanity, there is a calm professional who works to deliver you the best possible experience. For reference, this is its frequency response relative to Harman and this is how it compares to the Arya. I tried the Muddy Waters song My Home Is In The Delta, and the mentioned happened, but there was an interesting thing. The HE6SE v2 come with a cable using an XLR4 connector on the amp side, with an additional adapter from XLR4 to a 6. This being said, the design of Arya is different, and follows the design of Ananda, which is more oval, has much larger drivers and earcups, with more space for your ears to sit in.
