A Nordstrom rep was less than kind to me once, and I was SO upset – because I love Nordstrom, have always had great service from them – and it made me THISCLOSE to saying forget you. One thing to remember with NARS blushes are that they are highly pigmented, which reflects in the cost, so you only need a tiny amount. I feel it lifts my skin tone and adds a warm glow, perfect to apply if you don’t wish to use a bronzer.

They said she went “over” the limit, and she never heard back as to why they REMOVED the discount 100% vs. I should preface that I currently like shimmer blushes thanks to formulations from MAC which showed me that they could be done in a way that don’t look like I used a colored highlighter or shimmery eyeshadow as blush on my cheeks. My inner makeup goblin wanted me to look into the other non-shimmer Nars blushes, but as nice as they appear, I still prefer my MAC blushes over these.

I feel like prestige brands tend to give more sheer formulas that are a bit softer and buildable so im not mad at the sheerness but im curious to find out of any of the other shades with show up on my complexion! For instance, Hit It Off is a little more sheer than the others and Showdown is quite light, so I need multiple swirls in the pan to have the opacity level I want of them on my cheeks. Although it looks extremely intimidating in the pan, it can be sheered out to give a light flush to the skin. As a very pale redhead, this is the only blush I've ever found that doesn't make me look like a clown. Blush has always been something that I want to look natural, like I’m actually blushing, but that type of shimmer is a dead giveaway.

I find it easy to overdo due to the pigmentation, but very easy to apply and to sheer out with my 182 kabuki by MAC. Like I couldn't believe it for like two seconds, two seconds was all it took sha because I grabbed it with immediate alacrity. She has a light plus skintone with subtle, warmer yellow undertones ( view her foundation matches here). It may as well be an orange highlighter, and that was quite disappointing to discover because of how much Charlotte Holdcroft raved about how it’s supposed to look bronze-orange on the skin or “tan skin with a touch of orange. A NARS SA said she holds hers up to a light for thirty seconds or so, and then the pan just falls out! I could have built up High Demand, Showdown, and Just Lust even more, but I liked their levels in the photo.

Unfortunately, some of the shades in this quad brought me right back to that feeling of remembering why I steered clear of shimmery blushes for so long. I’m still looking for the perfect Nars-blush for my NW20-25 skin, like it sheer and not too shimmery. Believe me I have asked for Taj Mahal everywhere that I have seen a Nars stand over the last two years but I always got the same reply. Despite owning their blushes as far back as 2016, I still had no sense of how I felt about them beyond the experience being positive.

Like you lusted and lusted and lusted for it, had the money to boot but the product refused to make itself available? For the amount of time I have had this I’m surprised at how little I have actually used considering it is one of my go to blushes. It gives skin an added warmth and subtle glow from the shimmer-sheen, and if you go easy, it’s very, very wearable and flattering. They look similar in swatches, but High Demand is a brown-red whereas Just Lust is more of a berry shade. Buildable shades from sheer to bold deliver a natural wash of color to every skin tone—a light swipe of even the highest-intensity hues deliver a natural-looking flush.
