Description

On the fateful day that Joe sees his wife's car entering an underground car park, and decides to follow her, his life will never ever be the same again. He witnesses her arguing with family friend Ben, and life as he knew it will begin to unravel in a most spectacular fashion. I’d suggest going along with the premise, despite the suspension of belief required. It’s a solid thriller if one doesn’t take it too seriously. Before you open up this book make sure you have no plans for the day. Don't answer the telephone, and don't answer the door, because all you will want to do is to read this book. I am serious. At least that is how I thought. I did not want it to end. I raced through this book and read it in two days. I could not put this one down. I carried it wherever I went because I couldn't put it down. The Catch , my fourth book, tells the story of a father who becomes convinced his daughter is about to marry a man with terrible secrets. It has also been made into a four-part TV drama currently on Netflix and starring Jason Watkins, Poppy Gilbert, Aneurin Barnard and Cathy Belton.

Joe finds himself in the sights of a ruthless killer determined to destroy everything he treasures. He will do whatever it takes to protect his family, but as the net tightens around him, his life begins to fall apart. Soon, Joe is in a life or death struggle with a cunning opponent who is always one step ahead. It's only March and "29 Seconds" has already secured its place in my top ten for 2018 and I will be recommending this book to everyone I possibly can.

What To Read Next

Specifically, I felt as if the author was setting William up as a character who had autism and I felt like, at some point in time, that was going to be revealed and come in to play — perhaps even somehow being part of the twist. From T.M. Logan, the bestselling author of Lies, comes 29 Seconds, a sensational new thriller that explores what happens when a split second thought of revenge takes on a life of its own. options – both dangerous. Think of all the people who have wronged you? Then you are given the opportunity for revenge against a sexual predator who is making your life a living hell. What would you do? Take the offer? When Joe Lynch while driving his son, William home stumbles across his wife driving into a hotel car park while she's supposed to be at work, he's intrigued enough to follow her in. This book is told in the first person point of view following Joseph (Joe) Lynch, a teacher, as he drives his son William, 4, home from school. On the way home, his son and him spots his wife Melanie (Mel), driving to a hotel’s underground parking lot. They follow because they want to surprise her. When inside the hotel, Joe witnesses that Mel looks to be having an argument with one of her friends’ husband, Ben. He decides to wait for Mel at the car but when she comes down she hurries off and Joe misses her. Then Ben came down later and lies to Joe about not seeing Joe’s wife Mel in the hotel. When Ben’s wife, Beth, came around saying her husband Ben has gone missing. Joe and his wife Mel went to the police to help with the case. This book is organized in a timeline by days of the week. Later Beth confronts Mel of the pictures, Joe’s happy marriage and comfortable life as he sees it is no more.

Towards the end was engaging, silly not extremely believable...but I didn’t see the ending coming either. Due to a random incident, Sarah is given a chance to make a difference in her life, to get out from under this tyrant but it goes against everything that is right. Still, she considers whether she would allow something very bad to happen if there was no chance for that thing to ever be connected to her and if that thing would allow her to have a safe, unmolested life. Sarah is trapped and feels like she has nowhere to turn but can she accept what is being offered to her, w When Joe Lynch stumbles across his wife driving into a hotel carpark while she's supposed to be at work, he's intrigued enough to follow her in. He knows he should intervene but when it turns violent, Joe has to make a decision about his actions. Then it all starts to go wrong... Creepy, creepy, creepy, but a winner if you like thrillers.' * Woman's Way magazine * This was a mediocre thriller for me. I was entertained and would be interested to see what T.M Logan has up his sleeve next. I think this is going to be a hot contender for many to talk about! :) While driving home with his young son, Joe Lynch spies his wife’s Melisa’s car turn into a hotel parking lot. He makes the decision to follow her--a decision he will come to regret. What happens next results in Joe being framed for a terrible crime. As Joe fights to prove his innocence, he comes to realize his happily ever after has been built on lies. A boring game of cat and mouse ensues.Sarah's boss is a sexual predator, who constantly puts pressure on her, under threat of losing her job - a job that she needs even more since her husband walked out leaving her with their two children to look after. Life is really difficult without losing her only income too, so the dilemma that she finds herself in is impossible - should she give her boss's name, or does she give in to his constant demands just to keep her job? While the premise of the book was interesting, it is also one that has been done many times over so I was looking for it to stand out in some way. Unfortunately, I had most of the "lies" figured out early on. There was one twist that I hadn't anticipated until the end and that definitely redeemed things a bit for me. Hence the 3.5 versus 3 stars rating. I do enjoy having the wool pulled over my eyes in any way possible! When you read thrillers as often as I do, this becomes increasing harder to experience so any little unforeseen twist is very welcome. Psychological thriller about a man who makes a spur of the moment decision that destroys his seemingly happy life in an instant. I was born in Berkshire and grew up in Reading, the youngest of three boys and a fully-fledged bookworm from a very young age. I read history at Westfield College, part of the University of London, and went on to do a postgrad at Cardiff University. But that’s not what Joe does. Instead, he takes his son with him into the hotel lobby. When he arrives, he finds his wife, Mel, arguing with Ben, a family friend and the husband of one of Mel’s best friends from college.

Joe Lynch is happy with his life - he adores his wife Mel and their son William. He's an English teacher who gets to spend quality time with his son since he started working part-time. However, Joe's naivety is going to bring his whole way of life to the very brink. I know it's early, but Lies is one of my favorite reads of 2017 so far! I just loved it!...If you're looking for a fast paced psychological thriller, this is the book for you! I highly recommend it' * The Blonde Likes Books * If you’ve yet to read T.M. Logan’s The Catch book then you might well be a little surprised by the changes that have reportedly been made to the Collier family and their home in the gripping Channel 5 show. In the Channel 5 drama which starts on January 25, as per RadioTimes.com, the setting is now the coast of the South West of England where Ed is a fisherman. Joe's wife, Mel, admits the affair and even though she says she is very sorry for all that has happened, Joe doesn not trust her anymore. He wonders if she plays a part in all that is going on. He can trust no one, as his friends abandon him due to his connection to what has happened and he is suspended from his job. The police have a growing pile of evidence against him and Joe realizes that he's going to have to find a way to bring Ben out in the open, proving that Joe hasn't killed Ben. Author Logan was born to a German mother and an English father in Berkshire. He studied at Cardiff and Queen Mary universities and obtained his graduate degrees. Immediately after, Logan started working as a journalist at a national newspaper. Currently, he works as a full-time writer and resides in Nottinghamshire along with his wife and children. Logan has built a cabin for himself in his garden where he normally finds the quiet and peace to work on his novels. He says that he has been writing fiction for a long time, but didn’t think seriously about getting his work published. It was only after he hit his mid-30s that he began to take it seriously with the intention of becoming a published author. Subsequently, Logan started devoting a proper amount of time for his writing work and pushed towards finishing a full-length book. His first work of fiction is still left unpublished.

How well can one ever really know another person? Is faith always blind? How much trust can be confidently placed in the person with whom one shares a life, home, children? Assured, compelling, and hypnotically readable - with a twist at the end I guarantee you won't see coming." - Lee Child, New York Times bestselling author of The Midnight Line
