Description

This is a scent that would be great on any woman who is lively and fun with some good taste, who wanted to smell nice-but not "perfumey".

The rhubarb and cyclamen notes are the ones that sold me on this one and it didn’t disappoint because I can feel them both, on my skin and on clothes. I still have the magazine rip-out of an article announcing the tarot collection's release date from allure. In fact, those scents are almost identical to me, except L'imperatrice is lighter and isn't as sweet. It consists of five perfumes: Le Bateleur, L’Imperatrice, L’Amoureux, La Roue de la Fortune and La Lune. I don't know if you can still purchase this version, I tried the new, limited edition and did not care for it.

I have read that quite a few people sense it as smelling of rotten fruit, I think there must be some confusion happening there with the fizzy illusion of fermentation. If you need lotions, I've found Tree Hut Watermelon body butter and Hempz Coconut Watermelon lotion do a great job extending longevity and adding a touch of gourmand sweetness. When you do come back to the garden, saddened and exhausted, you are immediately hit in the face by this scent - Vile rotting fruit salad, heavy on the fermenting watermelon, that's been left sitting out in a hot climate next to a glass of flat, sugary lemonade, in a poorly kept garden that sits squarely underneath a flight path. The initial spray is a sharp blast of alcohol - as in real booze - and it's quite off putting but thankfully doesn't linger. I love it—watery fruits with a hint of tartness— it’s incredibly refreshing and just what I was looking to wear in hot summer days.It exudes a distinctly feminine and even girly charm, making it a perfect choice for the summer months when its vibrant character truly shines. Something about the rhubarb must have gone off in the bottle I smelled, but I cannot imagine this smelling fruity in any capacity.

The opening is really strong and sharp, like an underripe kiwi but with a kick that I'm not familiar with. But what keeps me coming back is the combo of those sweet notes combined with the dustiness of the woods. Read about this perfume in other languages: Deutsch, Español, Français, Čeština, Italiano, Русский, Polski, Português, Ελληνικά, 汉语, Nederlands, Srpski, Română, العربية, Українська, Монгол, עברית. It’s definitely a rhubarb bomb and if you enjoy something bracing with fruit throughout then try it!
