This Aussie themed board book is so adorable, it’s based on the hit ABC KIDS TV show BLUEY and it’s going to be popular! It’s a great book about kids getting a little independence and overcoming fears about things that they don’t have to fear and learning to be brave.

The story itself is engaging and entertaining, with just the right amount of humor and heartwarming moments. Helen Garner’s contribution to the books industry was recognised on Wednesday with the Lloyd O’Neil Hall of Fame award. Although lift-the-flap elements are nothing new, it’s interesting to note that they are always childhood favourites, but are elements used sparingly alongside big name characters like Spot and Peppa Pig.Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. However, her journey encounters obstacles in birds and other beach surprises that she finds along the way. As Mr Pelican flies off giving us a beautiful vista of a typical quiet, Aussie beach, Bluey catches sight of Mum, and they run to meet up. This book has a charming colloquial Australian voice and is full of humour and of course great lessons for the young people. Firstly though, King Neptune Bingo releases Blueys legs from the mermaid tail, so she can walk for the day. The lift-the-flap element gives the book another later of intrigue and tactile involvement, as readers are actively participating in the story. Yet perhaps, they are picking up on the complex mystery behind a love for the simple things - like walking by yourself along the shore.Pretending to be a mermaid who has finally got her legs for the day, she embarks on a precious solo adventure, following Mum’s footprints along the shoreline. Bluey is the latest hit in my house, and I can tell why as it is an excellent series that can appeal to both children and adults. Once they get to the sand they commence the activities that most Australian families do upon arrival at the beach: delight in the texture of the sand, apply sun cream and zinc, set up the sunshade, play jump the waves, soak up the sunshine, make sandcastles and bury your siblings legs in the sand in a mermaid tail. All of these nuggets make this book worth reading, but there’s not much that tops your toddler getting particularly excited at Bluey’s reunion with mum. Real-life soldier crabs are one of the few crabs that walk forwards, and their swarms march towards the ocean, not alongside it [2].
