Overall, it’s a very attractive laptop but there are a few too many compromises for it to warrant a wholehearted recommendation. Besides excellent color representation, this display also supports touch and inking via the Samsung S Pen. I find the S Pen often superior and more fun to use than Microsoft's Surface Pen, which applies here. Mixing Samsung's excellent assortment of Galaxy apps and this is an outstanding 2-in-1 laptop for taking notes, primarily because of its unparalleled thin-and-light design. As you would expect, turning the fan off will throttle the CPU to prevent overheating, which is reflected in benchmarks. But the result is still impressive. Geekbench performance for single-core is a good 500 points higher than Surface Pro X (SQ2) running a fanless ARM processor, although the Galaxy Book Pro 5G's multi-core falls score is about 1,000 points behind it. On PCMark 10, the Pro X takes the lead at a 5,088 score, while the Galaxy Book Pro only gets 3,555.

The Second Screen lets you use your tablet as an extension or mirror to your laptop's screen. Phone Link lets you activate the phone's hotspot functionality directly from the laptops. There's Expert RAW auto share, which can automatically transfer RAW files from your Galaxy phone to your Galaxy Book3 laptop while you're shooting. There are two display sizes to choose from: 16 or 14-inch, both boasting exceptional WQXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens with Intel®Iris® Xe graphic cards - that's incredible 3K quality! With an impressive 120Hz refresh rate and 120% Colour Volume (DCI-P3), the Galaxy Book3 Pro delivers cinematic viewing and powerful gameplay. You can choose from two elegant colours; Graphite or Beige and with a tough aluminium frame it stands up to the demands of the day. Outside of Multi Control, there are other interconnectivity options available. For example, you can get calls and texts from your phone and laptop via the Microsoft Phone Link app. With the Phone Link app, you can access Android apps installed on your mobile device on the laptop. Video runtime on a 30-minute charge is an estimation taking into account the 17-hour video runtime on a full charge against the battery charge amount after 30 minutes of charging with the inbox 65W charger where device is completely turned off with 2% battery remaining. Finally, Microsoft's Surface Pro X (SQ2) is an excellent convertible PC with support for the new Surface Slim Pen 2. Overall system performance is as good as the 11th Gen Core i5 Samsung Galaxy Book Pro, although that is only when running native ARM apps. But, unlike the Galaxy Book Pro, Surface Pro X does not support 5G (just LTE), and it is expected to be refreshed in the fall of 2022. We generally consider temperatures over 95 degrees as being uncomfortable. Since the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360’s hottest point doesn’t exceed that temperate, it should be fine to keep the device on your lap for extended periods. Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 review: Samsung Multi Control In terms of style, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 is a relatively modest-looking device that won’t look out of place among some of the best laptops. The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 quad speakers deliver solid audio. Everything from highs, lows and mids come through crystal clear. The sound never gets muddled, even with the volume cranked all the way up. With that said, the bass sounded too thin for my tastes.

The Book Pro 360 5G is also the first Samsung laptop – indeed, the first laptop from any manufacturer – that we’ve received to come with Windows 11 out of the box. Now, I fully expect Windows 11 machines to arrive with increasing frequency from now on, especially with the launch of Microsoft’s Surface devices, but good on Samsung for getting in there first.
