Over the past few months I have been thinking about trying new beer. You’ll have to forgive me, when I say beer I am using the word for all “ale”, so I apologise for that off the bat. This beer has been aged in oak with applewood chips at our Chicago Brewery for a distinctive character and depth of flavour With a lower ABV at 4.1%, balanced IBU’s, and a tropical fruit aroma, make Midway your new go-to, have more than one, easy drinking India Pale Ale (IPA) I had the first one and thought it was pretty nice, but when I went for another I found it quite weak. This is probably due to the fact that the first one I drank was after another beer, whereas when I tried it for the 2nd time it was my first drink.

Designed for an all-day “session”, this class of beer won’t leave you with the same level of hangover as drinking something a whole lot stronger, leaving you clear headed enough for that early morning training session (or that’s the idea anyway). And because low-alcohol beer tends to have fewer calories, it can also help to reduce your calorie intake. Everyone at the Goose Island Beer Company is looking forward to making some new friends Down Under.” Floral and citrus aromas lead to a slightly sweet caramel malt character, plenty of citrus from the generous use of Amarillo hops and a well balanced bitterness I guess that is the point with it being 4.1%, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the Goose Island IPA. It was reasonably nice enough, but nothing to get excited about. Light, crisp and punchy, a session IPA tends to express tropical holiday-esque aromas and a fruity, hoppy flavour. You can see why it’s our drink of choice for the summer months, but it's also a great beer for parties. What food goes well with IPA beer?

Goose Island IPA is a 5.9% alcohol Indian Pale Ale. It was really easy to pour, and has a nice colour. Straight off when I poured this the head was pretty big. It’s frothy, and it’s one you really have to pour slower unless you want a lot of foam at the top. I was never really into the whole ale thing, and just drank the usual lager you’d find in most bars or shops.
