We’re very happy with our Hoover Air Purifier 300. It was easy to setup, it’s simple to operate, we can move it from room to room, and the Auto mode allows us to be very hands-off. There’s a Max setting if you want to have an extra bit of oomph going on with your purifying sessions. More usefully, there’s a Sleep mode too, which is all well and good although curiously Hoover hasn't incorporated a middle-ground setting, but that's probably because the Auto option does such a good job of keeping performance just about right on the money. H-TRIFILTER SYSTEM: This smart air purifier is equipped with Hoover's H-TRIFILTER filtration system, which applies three layers of filtration to capture and remove particles sized down to 0.1 microns. If you have pets then washing them regularly will be beneficial. Also try to avoid sleeping with them as hairs and dander can easily rub off. Another great feature of this device is the carbon monoxide sensor and alert system. If like us you have log burning stove then this is a very handy addition to have. It will automatically sense deadly carbon monoxide in the air and warn you if there are unsafe levels. This will also apply to open fires and gas boilers that might be leaking. This is a life saver and every home with one of these appliances should have a carbon monoxide detector. Cooking smells

This week I’m reviewing the Hoover H-Purifier 300, a smart air filter designed to take all the unwanted pollens, allergens, gases and other nasties away from your home air. With our son and my mother in law being very susceptible to hay fever we were eager to try this new device out to see how well it performs. With spring here and summer just around the corner, it is a vital time for us to control pollen in our household. Theair purifieris now the first ally for your daily well-being at home. Lately, air quality is substantially worse, and the cause of this is the high concentration of vehicle and industrial pollution. Thanks to the air purifier, you can breathe in healthy and clean air, at least in your home. Pollen Neutraliser Technology – through the Hoover Air Purifier’s unique filtration system, pollen particles are instantly neutralised in the HEPA (H13) filter layer. The Hoover Air Purifier 300 has a triple layer HEPA filtration system which removes 99.9% of allergens such as dust, pollen, pet hair and bacteria, plus fumes, cooking smells and cigarette smoke. It also has a carbon monoxide sensor. The Hoover 300 air purifier can clean the air in a room in minutes, enjoy that open window feeling all year round. Easy Set Up and Simple Controls

The HoMedics stays quiet at its lowest two settings, but noise levels ramp up on its highest setting to around 54.1dB, making it louder than some larger models. It uses between 16W and 34W while in use. Performance is in line with other small purifiers, taking just over four minutes to bring our PM2.5 particulates down to safe levels from a high of 387 micrograms per square metre. However, with a HEPA filter, a carbon odour filter, an ioniser and UV-C treatment to combat germs, the HoMedics has a more robust set of air treatment features than other purifiers in its class. It’s affordable, but not at all basic. There are many different types of air purifiers on the market but they all have one thing in common: they use filters to clean the air. There are two main types of filters: mechanical and electrostatic. Mechanical filters trap larger particles like pet hair or dust while electrostatic filters attract smaller particles like pollen, smoke, or animal dander. Do air purifiers actually work? While pollen, dust mites and bacteria can all be handled as a given, the active carbon filter promises to filter out more pollutants, such as cigarette smoke, fumes and odours. Depending on who you live with the latter pair might be more useful than you think. We found the Hoover H-Purifier 500 was more than capable of taking on the foul air produced by a Sunday roast-sized portion of Brussels Sprouts, so it’s essentially game for anything. Even without all the smart stuff, this is an easy purifier to use. Clear indicators show the current mode and power setting, while a central ring glows blue through to red, depending on the current air quality readings. You can pretty much leave it on the Automatic setting and let it do its thing. It can get a little noisy at its highest speeds, peaking at 52.7dB in Turbo mode, but we measured a very reasonable 28dB in Sleep mode.A good feature of this device is the sleep mode. It allows you to setup a quiet operation mode on a weekly schedule. This means you can continue to purify the air at night, when you’re sleeping, without being woken up by the noisy fan. The H-Purifier will continue to operate in super quiet mode so you can have a peaceful nights sleep with lovely clean air. Max mode With everything now setup the H-Purifier 300 can be controlled from the control panel on top of the unit or from the app. Setup is very straightforward. The product is supplied assembled, although it’s worth noting that you need to remove the plastic cover from the filter before use. Clean your soft furnishings with a HEPA Filter vacuum once a week. You’ll need to vacuum curtains, rugs, carpets, sofas and other fabrics.
