From what I understand, we meet Beast, the “monster,” in other books by this author as well as his handler/owner, a mafia boss. And who was she to judge Beast when she herself acknowledged that he was as much a prisoner as she was? Her other loves include her hilarious husband, her two crazy but cute dogs, and her ninja cat that sometimes thinks he’s a dog too. Well written story that I really enjoyed reading but that cliffhanger, oh my goodness I need the next book now! I read a lot of dark books and Clarissa Wild is one of my favorites at writing the dark stories I love so much.When it’s an author I already enjoy, well, I’m all in to see how they will take the tale and make it their own, and boy has this author made it her own and I gotta say that I really enjoyed it. It was absolutely cringy, but I’m assuming if you’re into mafia books like this then you probably don’t care. I wish I’d read the other stories just so I had a little bit of the back context, but it was easy to dive right in.
