I've just complete Bill's book and have been left feeling incredibly angry, shocked and fearful but predominantly, amazed at the tenacity and bravery shown by those mentioned in this deep expose of Putin and his cabal of liars, thieves and murderers. Bill Browder takes us down the rabbit hole of Kremlin lawfare where down is up and wrong is right, and powerful Russian interests are trying to upend our legal and political systems. Lawyers, politicians and the usual useful idiots have all been successfully recruited to the Russian cause, either through financial inducement, bribery, bovine anti-west sentiments, or perhaps worst of all, complacency.

The level of details, storytelling style, honesty and factual accuracy make this book unique and extremely compelling.From their perspective, they’d successfully tracked down and arrested an international fugitive wanted by Interpol, which probably didn’t happen every day at this little police station in central Madrid. There’s something deeply offending to our sense of justice about an innocent man framed by powerful forces.

If nothing else, I would be afforded due process before any possibility of being extradited to Moscow. Perhaps the story of one very wealthy man going up against the Russian state seems indulgent against the backdrop of the nightmare unfolding in Ukraine.
