The KRK Rokit 5 G4's EQ extras won it two categories – features and setup. This extra flexibility to tweak the speakers to your room – and its fantastic implementation – just seems so head and shoulders above what the Yamaha offers (and just about anything else at this price point) that it almost makes it a done deal for the KRKs. The material that has gone into building the KRK Rokit RP5 G4 has also been selected carefully and deliberately to fit a given function. These studio monitors offer a very good build with premium quality materials. When you touch or lift these studio monitors, you'll notice that they feel durable, compact, and well-designed with a gist look. The outer case of the studio monitors is also very well made. It was developed to ensure that there is very low resonance in the unit. This aspect ensures that the low-ends in the monitors are smooth and punchy without any unnecessary build-up. As mentioned, I was sent the new ROKIT 5 G4 and I am fortunate enough to still have access to the ROKIT 5 G2 that I reviewed in April 2008, and the G3 reviewed in December 2013. I set all of the models up side-by-side in my studio to my Drawmer MC3.1 monitor controller, and used a level meter and test tones to match levels.

So, the whole 4 th Generation of Rokit monitors have these upgrades, but how do you know which pair is right for you and your particular setup? Read on! At first glance, it may not seem that a lot changed in the design of the updated KRK Rokit 5 G4 studio monitor models. The width, depth, and height of the cabinets are very similar to the G3, but the G4 speakers are quite a bit lighter.

Studio monitors are in big part a matter of personal taste, but the KRK Systems Rokits have always had their solid spot amongst the popular choices of entry-level audiophiles, producers, and DJs. Every aspect of the KRK ROKIT RP5’s design is engineered to ensure perfectly balanced sound. A robust speaker enclosure and front-firing port deliver extended low-end as well as the possibility for varied room positioning. The ROKIT RP5’s speakers minimise vibration and improve clarity. Separated from the casing surface by iso-foam pads, the RP5 maximises speaker efficiency. With the KRK Rokit RP5 G4, the quality of the bass is just right. Because of the woofer and the front-facing bass port, you get a good punchy lower end. If you want a strong pounding bass, you would have to add a subwoofer to your setup. Otherwise, you can just comfortably use this studio monitor if you like a balanced-out bass that is punchy but not too heavy on the beats. Superior low-end extension with optional setting of +2dB KRK Bass Boost acclaimed by music creators worldwide These are by far the most popular Rokit monitor speakers on the market. Why? The KRK Rokit RP 5 G4 are the perfect size for home studios, which is becoming the norm for all studios these days! Smaller rooms have no need of massive speakers, and the Rokit RP5’s 5” woofer is just right for comfortable monitoring and general music listening.

The KRK Rokit G4s have been engineered to ensure top quality sound. This monitor has a matching woofer and tweeter designed by KRK for a balanced, unified sound. With DSP-driven room tuning and a 25 visual graphic EQ you can take full advantage of the sound quality by tuning in the perfect sound to match the acoustics in your environment. The custom Class D power amplifier at the heart of this monitor is a new design that drives the speakers in a more even and efficient way meaning there’s less wasted energy resulting in a clearer sound. Such reflections can skew the sound and should be avoided at all costs if one wants to make the best of their audio tools setup. Where Yamaha studio monitors are often famed for their white bass drivers, so KRKs have a distinctive yellow one, but KRK monitors are not just about looks, as their sound has won them fans across the world in both amateur and professional studios. Right off the bat, the KRK Rokit 5 G4 monitors sound impressively full sounding. The amount of bass that comes out of the 5-inch speakers is astounding and unexpected from woofers of this size. Quite recently, KRK updated their renowned Rokit G4 powered studio monitor line of near-field studio monitors with a complete tech overhaul and a brand new scientifically designed speaker enclosure.Art and Science stylishly unite with the new 5” KRK Rokit RP5 Generation 4 (“G4”) professional monitor, taking music and sound creativity to a whole new industry-level. KRK App, Room Correction and Onboard LCD Visual EQ Input Sensitivity: Unbalanced Signal Input, Gain +11dB: -10dBV; Balanced Signal Input, Gain 0dB: +4dBu Overall they are of a similar build quality too: compact and sturdy with rigid enclosures that are ideal for cutting down distortion, and the Yamahas also feature specially-designed mounting rings on the front to also help cut down vibration. The rigid cabinets on both also deliver a tight transient response, meaning the speakers should reproduce and follow your sound accurately and speedily and without flab. The speakers them selves are very delicate so if you have children or a cat/animal that can get to them they can be easily damaged suggest keeping at high points away from reach of anyone other than you.
