If you wish to cancel your subscription rather than renew it, you must give Somerset Council 30 days’ notice of cancellation before the subscription expires.

If you move to an address to a property outside Somerset and cancel your subscription you will not be compensated. You can home compost, visit a Household Recycling Centre or apply for an additional green bin if you have extra garden waste. By subscribing to the Garden Waste Collection Service you agree to be bound by the terms set out here. Somerset Council’s decision on whether a bin or bag will be emptied where in its reasonable opinion you have not complied with points 7 and/or 8 above will be final, and an alternate collection will not be arranged nor compensation provided.It is possible that during your subscription unforeseen events beyond Somerset Council’s control which affect the operation of the Garden Waste Collection Service may arise. Please note that the collection service is 'opt in' so you do not need to cancel it if you do not wish to pay for it.

You can sign up to a new chargeable green waste service for the collection of additional green bins from your domestic premise. Remember, we'll only collect waste that's been placed in a bin, box or purple sack provided by Stirling Council. Please do not present bagged waste next to your green bin, the collection teams will not collect it.If you don't wish to pay for a green bin, you can compost the leaves or take them to a recycling centre. If you can't keep it until your next collection, you can take your excess waste to any of our waste and recycling centres.
