Description

Aun'Ui Kol'denh - Aun'Ui Kol'denh is a social engineering advisor for Tau forces in the Jericho Reach. He has a personal armoured anti-grav unit with a life-support system, possibly due to deteriorating health, and is currently thought to be located in the orbital installation Iphigenia. Sept Stratagem: A Stratagem associated with a specific sept. These are only available if your army includes a Sept Detachment of the associated sept. All Sept Stratagems have the T’au Empire label. T’au Empire Detachment: A Detachment in a Battle-forged army where every model has the T’AU EMPIRE keyword (excluding models with the UNALIGNED keyword). Aun'El Basel'kyth - Suspected by the Imperium to be the head researcher/philosopher of Tau forces in the Jericho Reach, Aun'El Basel'kyth is currently thought to be located in the Beldar Academy on the planet Tsua'Malor. Lots of questions that haven't been satisfactorily answered yet. My impression so far, however, is that this Warlord is neither overpowered nor underpowered, but he's definitely meta-changing.

Born to counsel, advise and steer their comrades towards the chosen path, the Ethereals embody the roles of both royalty and the priesthood in T'au society, and the deference paid to them is the closest thing to mysticism in T'au society. Ralei: You said it yourself, Aun. Why should we rail against that which makes most sense? Well maybe it only makes sense whilst you lot are in charge." Until the end of the battle, T’AU EMPIRE units (excluding T’AU AUXILIARY units) gain new abilities based on the Tactical Philosophy that was selected and the current battle round number. While a VEHICLE or DRONE unit is performing the Fire Markerlights action, that unit can move without that action failing. If it does, until the end of the turn, models in that unit without the VEHICLE or DRONE keyword that are equipped with any markerlights are treated as not being equipped with any markerlights for the purpose of the Fire Markerlights action.Shas Aux'Phan - Shas Aux'Phan was a Tau Ethereal who died during the Auxion Campaign at the hands of the Dark Angels Ravenwing Grand Master Sammael. The zeitgeist of the people was pivotal, for belief in progress and continued faith in their own superiority would sustain them in the coming years.

The inhabitants of this system are heavily militarised, and possessed of a volatile and aggressive temperament.Add 1 to the Military Power of each planet in this star system. This warlord is held in the highest favour by the alien auxiliaries serving alongside them. This WARLORD gains the following abilities: Ralei: "Let me start you off. It's a story I heard from a trader an the edge of the Damocles Gulf. Seems this O'Shovah was a great hero of yours in the Fire Caste. Genius at whatever he did, just so long as what he was doing was fighting. Isn't that how it is with you T'au? Water Caste to talk and debate, Air Caste to shuttle you around, Earth Caste to do the dirty work. Everyone with their niche, no interbreeding, no intermixing. So, O'Shovah sets off to reclaim some colonies, and naturally there's an Ethereal in charge. Except the Aun gets killed and O'Shovah ends up in command. Suddenly there's no one reminding him about the bloody Tau'va, and he's a long way from home. So what does he do, Aun? I mean, like you said, the Tau'va is something you choose to follow, yes? Surely O'Shovah would've carried on with the peace and tranquillity crap, despite it all? Aun?" You can only add KROOT units if your Boarding Patrol Detachment includes at least one KROOT CARNIVORES unit. If you do so, you can include one unit of KROOTOX RIDERS, even though it has the CAVALRY keyword, and it can contain up to 3 models.

Vior’la

There are few more perilous and nightmarish battlefields than those created when a tangled cityscape is plunged into ruinous war. Yet it is amidst such conditions that the T’au of Sa’cea Sept excel. They make an art of fighting through half-collapsed cities, knowing just how to exploit this inimical environment to their advantage. The renown of this Ethereal is such that their mere presence upon the battlefield inspires the T’au to even greater efforts. In your Command phase, if this model is on the battlefield, it can intone one additional invocation it knows that has not already been intoned by a friendly model that turn. Prior to the capture of this specimen, it was assumed that the Ethereals must utilise some unidentified method of biological, psychic or even pheromone control over the T'au. The Ethereals sport an unidentified organ in the centre of their foreheads, a smaller version of which is possessed by other castes. Sept: T’AU EMPIRE units with the < SEPT> keyword will belong to one sept (or Farsight Enclaves). When you include such a unit in your army, you must select a sept’s keyword or FARSIGHT ENCLAVES to replace this keyword with.

Burst weapon: A weapon whose profile includes the word ‘burst’, or a Relic that replaces a burst weapon. By invoking the elemental truths, an Ethereal can inspire those around him to perform feats above and beyond what is normally considered possible -- bravery in the face of certain death, an increased focus as enemies draw near, an ability to withstand crippling pain or a sudden celerity that allows them to maintain a weight of fire even on the move. Closer integration of alien auxiliaries sees Dal’yth cadres benefit from shared defensive technologies and unusually well-coordinated tactics. Known as the "Aged Wonder," Aun'Shi continues to bring great fortune to the Fire Caste, leading them to yet more victories from the forefront of the Third Sphere of Expansion.Initial Impressions: Subject is deceased female adult Tau tau. Cause of death is asphyxia following cyanide intake. NB: Specimen was poisoned during sleep, without obvious distress. Annotated observations to follow [see attached Arco-stylus diagram (to right)].

The real question is whether what you give up is worth it. What are you giving up, you ask? Well, we glossed over it a bit but you lose the ability to take drones and the hover drone on the Ethereal when you select Aun’shi, and while those are not huge losses, they do affect your board state somewhat. The hover drone means that a basic Ethereal is going to be faster than Aun’shi by a non-trivial amount, which makes keeping up with Crisis teams easier- as does the Fly keyword, which is very handy. Similarly, while Aun’shi does have his handy-dandy forcefield, the two Shield Drones you can buy for a normal Ethereal certainly go a long ways towards protecting them and can protect other units in a pinch as well thanks to Saviour Protocols. Ion weapon: A weapon whose profile includes the word ‘ion’, or a Relic that replaces an ion weapon.

f. Clothing (majority removed). Complex woven fabric (material unknown); geometric patterns styled in copper filigree. However, if you’re desperate to throw him in he’s not the worst thing in the world. He does everything that a normal Ethereal does just as well- he keeps your army’s morale more solid, he passes out a variety of bonuses, etc. He does also have a small buff to survivability compared to a normal one of his kind; the extra wound and 4++ won’t always matter (sometimes you’re just getting popped by S6 shots or artillery), but it can make it that marginal bit more difficult to claim the easy VP off of him, which is at least something.
