After barely escaping a raging Shanghai nightclub brawl, Indy crash-lands into the wilds of India where he uncovers a sinister scheme that has enslaved a remote village's children in a fortress-like mine.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom': Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom brings you non-stop thrills and excitement like nothing you've ever experienced. This is a great boxset of fun action adventure films, and the Indiana Jones brand has held up surprisingly well over the years. While I wound up watching the DVDs several times over the years at least for the original trilogy, I haven’t even actually found the time to watch the Blu-rays until now, two years after I bought them. It might have been fate for her to grab the antidote in the resulting mayhem, and for both of them, and Indy’s sidekick Short Round to escape China in the wrong plane. Behind the Scenes, Bonus Footage, Documentaries: On Set with Raiders of the Lost Ark: From Jungle to Desert, From Adventure to Legend; Raiders: The Melting Face!He races against agents of the Soviet Union, led by Irina Spalko ( Cate Blanchett) for a crystal skull. From the award-winning duo of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, experience every heart-pounding thrill like never before with Indiana Jones ®: The Complete Adventures on Blu-ray! The box set contains four discs, with the first three discs containing one film each, and the fourth disc which holds the bonus features including the feature-length Indiana Jones: Making the Trilogy documentary. It’s a great making of feature, an excellent fly on the wall documentary with input from the director, crew and cast with minimal voiceover.

The only reason this is a 4 star review is the inclusion of the tedious cash grab that Kingdom turned out to be. His friend and colleague Steven Spielberg was also there, on vacation from work on Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The film has been noted as an outlier in the franchise, as it does not feature Indy's university or any antagonistic political entity, and is less focused on archaeology, being presented as a dark movie with gross-out elements, human sacrifice and torture.

Spielberg and Lucas discussed the central idea of a B-movie involving aliens, and Lucas suggested using crystal skulls to ground the idea. Indiana and his friend Marcus Brody ( Denholm Elliott) are assigned by American businessman Walter Donovan ( Julian Glover) to find the Holy Grail. The maguffin is the weakest yet, the paranormal, Jedi power conferring crystal skulls from inner space don’t even stand up to Shankara Stones, let alone the biblical resonance of the Ark, or the Grail. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull finds Indy (Harrison Ford) trying to outrace a brilliant and beautiful agent (Cate Blanchett) for the mystical, all-powerful crystal skull of Akator. Unfortunately, box sets that include all five Indiana Jones films on DVD or Blu-Ray/4K HD don’t exist yet, but with the enduring popularity of the franchise, fans can certainly hope to see one released in the future.
