There’s a brilliant variety of Yoto Cards (sold separately) to play – although you’ll need to fork out the cash to build up your collection – featuring stories to suit a range of ages and tastes.Well first of all you can just play the content to the Player via the app. Find the card in the Yoto App, under your My Cards section in the Library, and hit play. The Yoto Mini is great looking, and we loved its minimalist design as soon as we laid eyes on it. In terms of getting it set up, as long as you have a strong WiFi connection, it couldn’t be easier.

The Yoto app also stores all of your stories so that your child can listen to them on the go via your phone. You can also pause a story, turn it off or change parental controls on the device. The only reason to upgrade is if the extra battery life and extra storage are going to make huge differences to you.Kids can adjust the volume with the dial on the left, and the dial on the right has multiple functions. If kids turn it while playing a Yoto Card they can skip through the chapters on the card – with the pixel display showing what number they have reached. They then push the button to select that chapter.
