Vostok’s are good watches, more utilitarian kind of retro looking in my opinion. There are a ton of models to choose from. Most of them are pretty reasonable.

The angular 12-sided bezel gives the watch a brawny quality, so it’s not dainty looking despite its slim profile. The bezel, of course, is scratch-resistant ceramic, and the case combines brushed and polished steel. If you like the vintage styling of a watch from the late-1950s or early-1960s but want the modern construction and specification that comes with a new watch, few brands can provide as much value as Longines. They have a historical archive as deep as any Swiss watchmaker and are positioned in a place to provide these timepieces for an affordable price to a wide watch-collecting audience.

Now I’m 6’1”, 200lbs and I have a 7 inch wrist. I’m not exactly a small person. There are plenty of blokes walking around who have six to seven inch wrists who want to wear a dive watch that isn’t too big for them. If you were to ask me a few years ago if I would ever recommend a watch produced by the Invicta group to a group of watch enthusiasts, I would have given myself whiplash from shaking my head side to side so aggressively.

The microadjustment pushers on the clasp can be slid up and down for an exact fit (it’s also fun to use). And finally, the Aquaracer runs on an ETA-based 38 hour automatic movement. Since the introduction of the “Bond” era Seamaster Diver 300M, Omega has released 2 size variations of their iconic dive watch to appease a multitude of wrist sizes. Even though that trend came to an end with their most recent iteration, the fact that Omega continued to produce 36mm dive watches through the “bigger is better” era of the 2000s is admirable. Aside from the direction of the brushing, it's clear that the steel case is a rip-off of the Q, with an identical shape and proportions. While not original, it does mean that the watch fits thin wrists very well, with no overhang despite the hooded lugs. It’s true that, in practice, a <40mm dive watch is at a disadvantage in terms of readability in the water. That’s entirely up to you though, whether or not that matters. So if you like dive watches but you’re looking for something a little smaller, you’re in the right place. Longines has been making watches for nearly 200 years. The Hydroconquest is one of its flagship models. Anyone would be prooud to own one of these watches. For me the only thing is the style, I love some things about it and others I’m lukewarm on. For example, I could do with smaller numbers. I love the crown and crown guards. Everyone has different tastes.
