Description
Both the Miele C2 and C3 are bagged cylinder vacuum cleaners. They don’t have the convenience of a cordless vacuum cleaner, but make up for this with powerful suction and a wide cleaning radius. C2 Complete Allergy PowerLine – Unlike the standard C2, the Allergy version has a HEPA AirClean filter to remove allergens from the air. If you suffer from allergies, the C2 Complete Allergy is one of the best vacuums on the market. We think the Miele C3 Complete Pure Red Powerline provides excellent value for money. It’s a high-quality vacuum cleaner with a range of useful features, such as adjustable suction, cord rewind, integrated accessories, and strong cleaning performance, so it’s well-worth the price. What makes these Miele cylinder vacs a good investment is that they have built-in HEPA AirClean filters. Therefore, they will filtrate dust and allergens from surfaces efficiently. Additionally, every model has a 4.76-quart AirClean dustbag with flaps that allows for dust-free removal.
Emptying is as simple as removing the sealed bag and putting it into the bin. There’s even a colour-coded system inside the vac to make it easier to insert the correct dust bag. The Miele Complete C3 Pure Power is another cylinder vacuum in the popular C3 range. It features a large 4.5 litre bagged dirt capacity, six-stage motor, and a combination Allteq floorhead. The vacuums have similar designs and sizes. The C3 is marginally bigger, with a length of 49.6cm compared to 48.7cm, but the difference is negligible. They both require roughly the same storage space. Ease of Use The onboard tool storage system (Miele C2) Hard Floors: The strong suction power of both the C2 and C3 makes them perfect for hard floor cleaning. They also have enough power to remove dust in floorboard crevices. If you opt for a version including a turbo brush, this does an excellent job at digging out trapped hairs from sofas and carpets. You’ll need to spend more on the Cat & Dog versions to get it though. PriceOne of the advantages of such strong suction power is that the C3 is great for removing dust from between floorboards or on laminate. We also found it to be a decent choice for removing pet hair, although you probably want to consider the Cat & Dog version if you have pets, as this comes with a turbo brush for improved pet hair performance. The bagged design of the Miele C3 Pure Power makes the vacuum more hygienic than bagless alternatives. HyClean dust bags are self-sealing when you open the vacuum’s body, which minimises the chance of dirt and allergens escaping when you need to empty it. The wide 30cm floorhead means you can cover large areas in less time, but we don’t think it’s as good for getting into tight corners or around furniture. For comparison, the Samsung Jet 90 Pet has a narrower 25cm floorhead, which is less efficient but more manoeuvrable. It really comes down to personal preference – and the C3 certainly doesn’t feel difficult to steer. Finally, the unit is encased by a bumper strip. This reduces the risk of scratches and scuffs on your furniture or walls when you pull it around. The C2 and C3 Complete PowerLine vacuums use a combination of Miele’s HyClean bags and AirClean filter. The bags trap larger particles, while the AirClean filter is designed to capture smaller allergens.
The C3 has a “Single Touch” cord rewind function. This is one of our favourite extra features of the Miele. C3 Complete Cat & Dog PowerLine– The same as the C3 Complete, but with Miele’s Turbo Brush and Active AirClean filter to eliminate odours. Using it can feel like a workout, however, with the vacuum actually lifting the carpet when on the highest setting. But we can’t fault it for how well it removes dirt from the fibres, even on lower suction settings. Hard Floors
C3 Complete Premium Edition EcoLine– This is an EcoLine version, which means it has a less powerful 550W motor. It comes with Miele’s Parquet Twister for hard floors, along with a handle spotlight to illuminate dust and dirt. The Miele Complete C3 Pure Power comes with Miele’s Allteq combination floorhead. It’s a simple floor tool with retractable brushes, although there’s no motorised brush bar. This means the vacuum relies on suction power alone to clean floors. You’ll often need to use a medium setting for carpets, however, to make sure you can comfortably push the cleaner head. But it’s nice to have the stronger power available for stubborn dirt. The Miele C3 is the slightly better choice though. It has a larger cleaning radius, which makes it more convenient when cleaning your home. The suction foot controls are also a useful feature. Like most models in the C3 range, the Miele Complete C3 Pure Power has an AirClean filter, along with HyClean dust bags.
The cord is hidden inside the body of the vac, so it’s easy to keep tidy and tangle-free, and there’s an automatic rewind function. We love this feature, as it makes the vacuum more convenient than models like the Henry Xtra, which doesn’t have an automatic system. The three accessories are also hidden away in the vac, so the overall appearance is neat and streamlined.
In-Depth Comparison of the Miele Complete C2 and C3
At first glance, the C2 and C3 are very similar vacuums. They have a bagged design, extendable wand, all-surface floorhead, PowerLine motor and 890W motors (unless you choose an EcoLine version.) They are also both built with a similar form and on-board tool storage. We should mention that while it’s an effective system for cleaner air, it’s not a HEPA filter. These are the gold standard for filters, trapping at least 99.97% of microparticles, like bacteria and allergens. Emptying and Cleaning Aside from specific features, we found the C3 to be easy to manoeuvre around the home. It’s also easy to adjust the height of the telescopic tube, which is great for getting rid of cobwebs or if different members of the family will be using it. Filtration In terms of weight, the Pure Red is around average for a cylinder vacuum at 7.3kg. It’s certainly not the best option if you’re looking for a lightweight vacuum, but most of the weight is pulled around on wheels (unlike with upright vacuums.) For comparison, the classic Henry cylinder vacuum weighs 8kg, while the Miele C1 Compact is a much lighter 4.3kg.
Moving onto the technical specs, the Miele C3 Pure Power has a large 4.5 litre bagged dirt capacity. This means it can hold plenty of dirt, dust, and hair before needing to be emptied. The Miele C3 vacuum comes with a telescopic tube, which has multiple settings to suit the height of the operator. This is great for making floor cleaning more comfortable, plus it provides extra reach when cleaning high areas. The tube also has a wide diameter for increased airflow. So, what makes this Miele vacuum cleaner stand out from the crowd? And is it a worthwhile investment compared with other C3 vacuums? Keep reading our Miele Complete C3 Pure Power review to find out. Overview of the Miele Complete C3 Pure Power’s FeaturesOne of the best features of the Miele Complete C3 Alize is how it automatically decreases suction as you transition from hardwoods to carpeting. Then, it will increase its suction power when you return to smooth, solid flooring. This will save you both time and energy. We think the Miele Complete C3 Pure Power is both powerful and intuitive to use. The castors make it easy to move in any direction, while the telescopic tube can be adjusted for the height of each user. We think the Miele C3 Pure Red is one of the best vacuums on the market. It’s excellent for cleaning all types of hard floors and carpets, despite not having a motorised brush bar. We also like that it’s easy to use and has a hygienic bagged emptying system.
