I was immediately enthralled with the world of Levanthria after reading A Loch of Grace and Greed. I couldn't put down a Forest of Vanity and Valour, now we have this book. Let me just say the story continues to get better and better. Again, my complaint of the book is that it too short and pretty much everything could be expanded on, events, the characters, world building. Everything is just a bit rushed. I wanted more about Zerina getting to know Ulrik, and really solidify the relationship between the three main characters.

I liked how the magic was developed, more detail on how it all works etc. Also liked how the world was developed more. I liked Zerina and Ulrik. Esara on the other hand was annoying and a bit 2 dimensional, couldn’t fully get to grip on what age she was supposed to be.Zerina Redfearn is naïve to the world’s cruelty.
