the creatures suggest, as the adventure does play out remarkably different to the original short story (and its adaptations). Death describes the two of them as primal forces within the cosmos, “the shepherds who guide it to its proper purpose. it’s also worth mentioning the fantastic chapter where Galactus lays siege to the Skrull Throneworld, a story which beautifully illustrates the destruction he causes as a mere matter of course.

The Fantastic Four’ saw maverick scientist Reed Richards summon his fiancée Sue Storm, their close friend Ben Grimm and Sue’s teenaged brother before heading off on their first mission. Coming into the comics profession exclusively as a penciler, Byrne began co-plotting the X-Men comics during his tenure on them, and launched his writing career in earnest with Fantastic Four (where he also started inking his own pencils). It was Kirby’s compelling art and the fact that these characters weren’t anodyne cardboard cut-outs.And like the Fantastic Four, they continually strove to overcome the impossible and achieve the extraordinary. For a comic book fan, it doesn't get much better in terms of art or imagination than this overstuffed volume of modern day Fantastic Four classics. However, the layouts could have used some more background attention and the entire book reminded me of how bad four color comics were visually. It just feels a little pointless for Byrne to shrewdly identify some mistakes in the team’s past only to then spin the story that absolutely everything is perfectly fine. El dibujo de Jack Kirby inmejorable y se puede ver como fue evolucionando gratamente en sus diseños.

Maybe it’s a measure of consciousness, but it seems strange that the Fantastic Four are so indifferent to the risks of killing some Skrulls. He actually flies the team back to his homeland of Latvaria and illustrates how the Fantastic Four, through their “hit and run” effort to depose him, actually destroyed the once-thriving country.

Given the team forced a sentient being (even a nasty one) into slavery, it seems only fair that these decisions come back to haunt them.
