She's waiting the last days to go by and she could finally be free, but something doesn't go as planned. The 'enemies to lovers' banter felt pretty lame when they fell so deeply in love in just the span of 14 days. Getting to read references to the og cinderella story while also learning about a whole new world and whole new plot was really cool. When she isn’t writing, she’s watching dog videos or having dance parties in the kitchen with her daughter. He was such a powerful and impressive Fae that no one really tried to see beneath the facade he had created and I think it was wonderful to see how much emotion he actually had and how big his heart was.

A beautiful faerie universe, an amazing magic system, fun and interesting characters, an intriguing plot and a romance that is to die for! With the social season in full swing, and bringing with it a horde of husband-hungry socialites, he’ll do anything to delay the pressures of both marriage and the crown. The plot knots that Tessonja wrote her protagonists into were genuinely airtight in terms of difficulty and I was definitely satisfied with how she undid them with time.Be it kindness shown unexpectedly, standing up for oneself and one’s future against someone you love, be it assuaging one’s own guilt and trying to do the right thing and fighting fear and doubt and hoping that love triumphs in the end and never giving up without trying at least once and allowing oneself to be vulnerable to failure. First off, I wrote a wonderful review for Heart of the Raven Prince and now I can’t find it and genuinely want to cry. The chapters are alternative, written either from Ember's POV or Franco's and they both offer a chance to see things through different perspectives, making it easier to love Franco (even more than I already did!

But when feelings emerge on both sides, she starts to wonder if there's more to their contrived courtship than either of them planned.their story was sweet and of course it had its well-known tropes such as enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, etc. My favorite part was obviously the chance to see Franco (whom we've met in the second book of the Fair Isle trilogy) getting his happy ending, since he was one of the characters I liked the most. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with protagonists who’ve gotten themselves into a fix, we’ve seen that so much that we forget that another way exists.

I've already loved this world for some time now, but the characters, reveals, personal growth and HEA ending were my favorite parts. Every character had a role to play, each plot point weaves its way subtly into the over-arching story, the book leaves everything with a perfect pay-off.During a time where we’re used to aloof, oh-so-mysterious heroes with their hearts tucked behind brambles and thorns, it was such a relief to see the male protagonist of this story being vulnerable, suffering and being honest about this to the best of their ability to their loved ones.
