This dual-layer system helps hold heat in the winter without condensation forming on the inside of the tent. It also helps keep the interior of the bivvy cool during the summer months. I have asked them a few times to so a wrap for it to help with cooling in summer etc. and give a tiny bit of extra room at the front. They replied and said they were looking at it once but never seen anything and my guess is they will release something else instead.

Thanks bud I didn’t mean the material difference In colour I just meant build quality and if it’s a decent bivvy that’s all bud 🤣 sorry should of been more specific with that but I don’t care about which colour I get lol The shelter has a classic pram hood design with a sewn-in front panel with mesh windows. It’s easy to erect and comes complete with a groundsheet, pegs, and storm poles as well as a large peak for doorway protection from the rain. Let’s take a look at five factors to consider before you get yourself a new 2-man bivvy: 1. How Waterproof Should a Bivvy Be? The best 2-man bivvy should be large enough to accommodate two bedchairs and two anglers’ luggage with plenty of room to spare. Like any bivvy, a 2-man should be waterproof and breathable. Breathability is especially important with two-person shelters as the combined body heat can create a big condensation issue. If you’re looking for a spacious bivvy that’s simple to use, easy to erect, and extremely functional, the JRC Defender Peak XL may be a good choice for you. It’s not going to break the bank either, so it’s ideal for those of you who may be on a bit of a tighter budget. Will do mate going to give it a test run in a couple weeks and take her fishing with me if it warms up, either way I might just leave my frontier x at home n give it a go we all love new gear lol Ventilation is an important factor when buying a new fishing bivvy. It’s even more important when buying a bivvy for 2 people because far more condensation can build up from the additional body heat. Consider whether you want a 2-man bivvy that can double up as a large social space or day shelter. Features such as removable front panels and large peaks make 2-man bivvies more usable for socials and summertime fishing.

I have the undercover brolly in green and a 1 man undercover bivvy in camo. Assuming the material is the same on the 2 man version (which it should be) I would suggest that there is very little difference, if any, in regards to the quality of the materials therefore down the asthetics and which you prefer. If anything the green offers a little more shade than the camo, but it is quite minorAt the very least, a bivvy should have mesh infill panels at the front that can be opened to increase the airflow inside. However, you should definitely look out for extra ventilation features such as side and rear mesh panels when purchasing a 2-man shelter. It features a large peak for doorway protection from the weather and the letterbox-style door has a two-way zip, a solid khaki panel, a PVC window, and a mesh panel. The bivvy features a rectangular X-Frame design with a hydroX 300D ripstop shell. It has a sewn-in PVC groundsheet, removable flysheet and plenty of mesh ventilation panels on all sides.

Ventilation is all well and good, but unless you can leave the vents open in the rain you’ll still get condensation inside the bivvy when you’re zipped in. Dual-layer bivvies, overwraps, or other means to keep the rain out while letting air in will allow you to keep air circulating no matter the conditions.

man bivvies are definitely a lot heavier than 1-man bivvies as you would expect. However, not all 2-man bivvies are built the same and some weigh far less than others. Just wanted some experience and if it’s worth paying the money for one, I have a frontier X for my normal bivvy but need something a little bigger to fit 2 bedchairs in for when she comes If you’re looking for a high-quality bivvy for two people and you want to stay on the move year-round, this is the ultimate bivvy for you. It features mesh ventilation panels on all four sides that can be covered with roll-down solid fabric for rainy conditions. The 15,000 mm 420D nylon shell can cope with any weather that may occur in Europe.

Of course, the first feature you should look for in a 2-man bivvy is internal space. However, there are several other features that you should look out for when purchasing a new bivvy for 2 people. The Trakker SLX V3 bivvy is the third generation of this product, complete with loads of new features. It's no wonder this bivvy has won multiple awards for “Best in Class” many times over. The main attraction of the Ascent over the HQ Dual Layer is definitely the price. This comes in at around half the price of the HQ. It’s also lighter (without the overwrap). It’s also compatible with the R-Series internal dome. This provides you with a second skin inside the shelter that essentially acts as an overwrap. This helps insulate the bivvy and eliminate condensation. Bivvies provide the comfort and shelter necessary for a pleasant fishing trip with a mate. Even better than a one-person set-up is a 2-man bivvy to ensure you and your tools stay protected and dry.The Avid HQ Dual Layer bivvy is ideal for the angling pair that wants a shelter with plenty of room that’ll keep them comfortable year-round. I’ve tried out the one-man version of this shelter and was thoroughly impressed. I loved the ventilation, the dual layer system without the need for a “clumsy overwrap,” and how adaptable the shelter is for different weather conditions. There’s enough headroom to stand up straight inside the shelter and plenty of room for two bedchairs, a large table, and enough luggage and bait for a year’s worth of carping! I have 2 the Solar Spider and the Solar Undercover brolly system both extremely well made with quality parts Weighing in at 10.4 kg, this bivvy is extremely lightweight, considering it’ll accommodate two bedchairs. Now, this shelter certainly isn’t as big as some of the others on the list but if you and your angling partner want to be a bit more mobile, this could be the bivvy for you.
