Shawn's involvement with theater began in 1970 when he met Andre Gregory, who has since directed several of his plays. As a stage actor, he has appeared mostly in his own plays and other projects with Gregory. He made his film debut in 1979, playing Diane Keaton's ex-husband in Woody Allen's Manhattan and an insurance agent in Bob Fosse's All That Jazz. His best-known film roles include Earl in Strange Invaders (1983) and Mr. Hall in Clueless (1995). After seeing his performance in My Dinner With Andre (1981), casting director Janet Hirshenson was so fond of his delivery of the word "inconceivable" that she cast him as Vizzini in The Princess Bride (1987). Other roles include Baron Von Westphalen in Southland Tales, Cyrus Rose on Gossip Girl, and Ezra in The Haunted Mansion (2003). see pg. 20 of liner notes accompanying "Allen Shawn – Piano Works" CD issued by Coviello Classics label (COV 91414)> "Allen Shawn – Klavierwerke". I have to start with one thing right off the bat: the rating I gave this book in NO way matches how I feel about Shaun Wallace himself. He started out as a shy, quiet kid and grew into a barrister who regularly has to stare down judges in a courtroom. He's made a run at both marathons and political office. He took his very niche hobby and became so good at it that he's become a household name in the U.K. (and probably Australia and Ireland, too). He's carved out an enormously successful life for himself, despite not going to a top-tier school and despite several painful failures along the way. If nothing else, everything I've heard about Shaun Wallace indicates he's a truly nice guy. If I accomplish a fifth as much as he has, I'll consider my life well spent. His story is nothing short of admirable. Our students had the best time with Shaun at our All Halls Quiz. He certainly has lots of fans in Leeds and we can't wait to invite him for an in-person session" - Jemma, University of Leeds Il Buio (Italian edition of The Dark), with Silvia Moreno-Garcia and Lorenzo Crescentini (September 2018 – 2019); 7 issues, along with an omnibus, Il Buio, Anno 1 (2019)Sean Wallace (born January 1, 1976) is an American science fiction, fantasy, and horror anthologist, editor, and publisher best known for founding the publishing house Prime Books and for co-editing three magazines, Clarkesworld Magazine, The Dark Magazine, and Fantasy Magazine.
