this book set me on edge when it opened with a car accident. no one was injured, but it triggered memories of when my dad and i were in a car accident, and i just didn’t get off to a good start. then the story progressed and got worse and worse—more and more upsetting. This Choi Han, aside from being generally less beaten up, looks well-rested. There is terrible fury in his eyes and murder in the lines of his mouth, but he looks healthy, fit, and lighter. Lighter than the other Choi Han anyway. His clothes are of good quality, and his armor is sparse but is probably imbued with magic, from the way some glows. The sword he uses is of peculiar design, but well-crafted and dangerous.

Putting aside Choi Han's and Alberu's weird reaction to him, it seems that side A really is from a changed world. He had expected some of the same semblances in this more well-rested Choi Han, and while it does look like people listen to him, he really isn't speaking as someone who holds authority over them.

The circumstances change and while my heart remained engaged, my nerves had it a bit easier, though not completely out of the woods. It’s like the story changed… modes.
