Description

Choose Fibreplex to ensure your rabbit enjoys a palatable and effective solution for maintaining optimal digestive health. Ingredients:

Medium chain triglyceride, dried grass, prebiotic (Profeed), dextrose monohydrate, preservative, aniseed fenugreek, antioxidant. To understand clinical performance, we discussed with Dr Cathy Chan, one of Singapore’s top rabbit-savvy vets whose clinic sees over 80% rabbit patients a day. Dr Chan confirmed that Fiberplex is a more suitable product for rabbits and have worked effectively in many cases where rabbits have gut stasis. As well as you rabbit producing fewer or no poops and caecotrophs, other important signs that could indicate your rabbit has gut stasis are: While the journey that a nugget takes to become a caecotroph is quite complex, it’s also very important- so we’ve broken it down to take you through it step-by-step: Rabbits can also benefit from Fibreplex if they have a severely reduced appetite, are on a course of antibiotics or have recently had a trauma (such as an operation or injury).Ingredients: Sunflower oil, silicon dioxide, sucrose, fructooligosaccharide, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Enterococcus faecium, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Pediococcus acidilactici (dried and fermented), artificial color. You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately. I don't know where (in your home) you syringe him, I used to syringe Simba on floor in hallway, but I now take him to the kitchen and place him on a towel on the worktop. He's much more compliant there (obviously I don't leave him unattended in case he decides to jump off). The digestible food will then be coated with a layer of protective mucus before being pooped out by your bunny as a fully formed caecotroph.

Theoretically, Fiberplex contains specific strains of bacteria most suitable for rabbits. It make sense to choose Fiberplex which is designed for rabbits over Benebac that is a more general product for small pets. A rabbit-savvy vet would also have recommended Fiberplex as the first choice for all rabbits based on the ingredients which are more targeted. Fibreplex is a delightful carrot-flavored paste designed to promote and maintain healthy digestive function in rabbits. Here are the key benefits it offers: Monitoring your bunny’s poo is really important as it can give you an insight into their overall health. And if you start to notice lots of uneaten caecotrophs in your rabbit’s hutch, this can sometimes indicate that something isn’t right and there are two main reasons why this can happen: Contains scFOS Prebiotic to help feed the friendly bacteria and to maintain & support gut flora levels.

I have had to syringe feed my little Simba many times over the past year. I have the same problem that he spits stuff out. In fact I find that although he hates being syringed anything he prefers medicine to Oxbow Critical Care or Supreme Science mix or pureed pellets. He just hates being syringe fed food. I found it easier when I bought the Supreme Science syringe for a start, as all of the fibre goes through the syringe (other syringes nozzles were so narrow only murky water went through). Simba tends to hold the liquid food in his mouth for ages (several minutes) andthen tries to spit it out. I tend to pretend to do something else and then he might swallow most of it thinking it's the last mouthful. But as he spits so much out, I do a full syringe and bit by bit feed it all to him so that even though he spits some out I know he gets some. Treat-ums Hairball Remedy, rabbits love their taste, give 2 per day as a preventative and 4 per day as a remedy. Give 1ml per kg of body weight by mouth, three times a day, for as long as considered necessary or as advised by your veterinary surgeon. The live yeastSaccharomyces cerevisiae(CNCM I-4407) 4b1702 to help repopulate the intestine with beneficial micro-organisms.

The other digestible part of the food will either remain in the caecum (or re-enter the caecum if it’s reached the colon) for further fermentation and can remain there for as long as four hours! But even in this time-period your bunny still won’t be able to digest all the nutrients and energy that is available.Post-Trauma Recovery: Whether your rabbit has undergone surgery or experienced an injury, Fibreplex aids in their recovery process by promoting digestive wellness during a crucial healing period. All our delivery services operate within the current COVID guidelines for your safety. If you have any particular COVID-related requirements, please just let us know. If you notice your rabbit stops producing caecotrophs or dry poop pellets, it could also indicate they have gut stasis- a serious condition in bunnies. The food material then enters the proximal colon and the caecum, where it’s separated into two parts- digestible and indigestible. The indigestible food is used to help keep your bunny’s gut moving along – a process called peristalsis. Once the indigestible part of the food matter has moved through the rest of the digestive tract, it will then be excreted as hard, fibrous faeces. Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

Directions for Use: 1ml per kg of body weight by mouth, three times a day, for as long as considered necessary or as advised by your veterinary surgeon. The food will pass through the upper digestive system (which includes the stomach and small intestines) and some nutrients will be absorbed here.BENEBAC PLUS PET GEL contains seven common fat-encapsulated microorganisms found in the intestinal tract of small mammals. It contains 20 million colony-forming units (CFU) of viable bacteria per gram and provides help for changing conditions, including, but not limited to birth, breeding, post-surgery, antibiotic therapy, weaning, worming, showing, boarding and travel. It is recommended for rabbits as well as dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs and ferrets. An inappropriate diet can be a reason why your bunny isn’t eating their caecotrophs. This is because diets that are low in fibre and high in protein and sugar can prevent your bunny’s digestive tract from working properly. This means it’s super important to make sure that your bunny gets the right diet- which should consist of at least 80% hay or grass. You can read more about the best diet for your rabbit here . Hello, I have two lionheads, one long haired who is moulting at the moment, Fibreplex is an excellent tool to have close by if your rabbit experiences runny poos but it is the roughage you really need at the moment to carry the ingested fur out. Your bunny eats their food for the first time, they give it a good old chew, before it enters their digestive system. The longer chewing times that are required for tough, fibrous foods is a positive for rabbits as they have constantly growing teeth that need to be constantly worn down. And fibre is essential for rabbits to ensure they stay healthy.
