This is the fourth book of Rachel's I have read - I like her easy writing style, and look forward to her future works!
But when the invitations arrive on bats’ wings, Isadora worries that maybe her parents don’t know how to throw a human party. Which can mean only one thing: Isadora’s birthday is going to be anything but normal! Isadora Moon might be half-fairy, half-vampire, but she wants to have a totally normal human birthday party. She gives her mom and dad a list–cake, balloons, presents, and games. Isadora is very excited about her mermaid friends’ sleepover. There she meets Esmeralda, a mermaid who doesn’t seem very happy. What could be the matter with her? Of course, an underwater adventure is the best way to make friends! Alice Nuttall (she/her) is a writer, pet-wrangler and D&D nerd. Her reading has got so out of control that she had to take a job at her local library to avoid bankrupting herself on books - unfortunately, this has just resulted in her TBR pile growing until it resembles Everest. Alice's webcomic, writing and everything else can be found at https://linktr.ee/alicenuttallbooks Many of us will be getting eggs of some kind this weekend, even if we’re pagan and don’t celebrate Easter as a religious festival. So, this post is about the folklore, symbolism and magic of eggs.
Now Isadora’s parents wanther to start school, but she’s notsure where she belongs — fairyschool or vampire school? Like Earth, the Moon has gravity (the force that pulls things towards the ground). But the Moon’s gravity is weaker, only one sixth of the Earth’s gravity, in fact. That means you’d weigh much less if you were to stand on the Moon! Isadora Moon is special because she is different. Her mum is a fairy and her dad is a vampire and Isadora is a bit of both. Isadora Moon es especial porque es diferente. Su mamá es un hada, su papá es un vampiro y ella tiene un poquito de los dos. Rachel also details how the moon is related to the Triple Goddess and includes a guided meditation for you to follow, she does this also for the Moon Dieties chapter where she shares short insightful information on some of the goddesses one may choose to work with.
Its surface is home to mountains, huge craters and flat planes called ‘ seas’ made of hardened lava. Camping is full of surprises when you’re a vampire-fairy!When Isadora Moon and herfamily go on a camping tripto the beach, they’re just likeeverybody else. They roastmarshmallows and build sandcastles and sleep in a tent! Isadora will have to teach them that there are things that aren’t as scary once you get to know them. The moon has always played a central role in human history and culture, unsurprisingly so. The orbit of the moon impacts the tides, and the changing phases of the moon have been used to mark time since the earliest days of human history, providing us with a natural calendar before we had the ability to calculate time ourselves. Scientists and astronomers from various cultures have focused on the moon, calculating its age and trajectory, and positing theories and writing books about the moon and where it might have come from, long before the space race allowed us to reach the surface of the moon itself.Isadora wants to take Pink Rabbit to class for “Bring Your Pet to School Day.” But her older cousin Mirabelle has a much better plan–why not take a dragon? What could possibly go wrong. . . ? The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite– a celestial body that orbits a planet. Its orbit around our planet is shaped like a slightly squashed circle known as an ellipse. Half vampire, half fairy, totally unique! Isadora is special because she is different. Her mum is a fairy and her dad is a vampire and she’s a bit of both. Isadora and her family are visiting the Frost Festival, a huge celebration of the winter fairies! There’s ice skating, fairground rides, gingerbread houses, and lots of delicious fairy hot chocolate. It’s magical! But in the hustle and bustle, Isadora gets separated from both her family and Pink Rabbit.
We move from the phases of the moon into the seasonal moon and examine different ways of using a moon calendar including relating it to the controversial Celtic Tree calendar. I’m glad she includes this though; it shows that moon magic and timings are not just for Wicca, but for any path. Isadora Moon is special because she is different. Her mom is a fairy, and her dad is a vampire, and she is a bit of both. Ian McDonald is a Hugo Award–winning novelist who has written books about Martian colonization , nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence . His latest series of Luna books are set in a near future where the moon is ruled by five families on a neofeudal basis. IEEE Spectrum invited him to share a selection of moon-related books that have moved and inspired him. This is such a brilliant book. Rachel writes in such a way that is so easy to read and so easy to understand. This book is very informative and very useful, whether you are new to moon magic or not ,or even ,thinking about trying moon magic. It gives lists of herbs .oils and blends to use during each phase, this is the second book i have and i will be sure to get the others, Well done Rachel ,
