When he figures out what is really going on, he is captured by Brother Mike and taken to El Dorado, a mockup Western town owned by Nightshade's new client: Jon Lucas. Thus, despite assurances that he will be kept from harm, gets involved with an adventure that takes him to Bangkok, Jarkarta, and back to the coast of Australia. I would recommend this book to anybody who would like a slightly longer book with surprises along the way. Alex is captured by Scorpia, and manages to help his long-time friend and caregiver after his uncle's death, Jack, (who has also been captured) escape.

Alex needed to look like this because Snakehead deals with smuggling people into different countries, including Australia. In July 2018, it was reported that Sony Pictures Television had replaced ITV as Eleventh Hour Film's distribution and financial partner for a new Alex Rider television series.
