First I must say that the subtitle of this book is a misnomer, since it comprises conversations with not one spirit but many spirits. But this is a minor issue. S: [Subject] Um, yes. I move slow, takes so long. (Moaning) There's not much joy any more. I am so tired. S: Oh, yes! You bring those things upon yourself. Thought is energy; it is creative and it makes things happen. It's easy to see how another person's fears can be silly and unimportant and you think, Why would they be afraid of that? Yet when it's your fear, it's so deep and so personal and so touching that it just engulfs you. So if I can look at other people's fears and try to help them understand theirs, I think somewhere along those lines it would help me understand the ones I had. THE MOST COMMON DESCRIPTIONS I have found of the moment when death occurs is that there is a feeling of coldness and then suddenly the spirit is standing by the side of the bed (or wherever) looking at their body. They usually can't understand why the other people in the room are so upset because they feel so wonderful. The overall sensation is one of exhilaration rather than dread.

The chapter entitled "Imprinting" presents a totally new concept for me. Imprinting is withdrawing information about the past life experiences of others and having this information imprinted on one's soul. The imprint would feel as though one had actually experienced the life in question. These "fake" (my appellation) past life experiences provide the person with a point of reference, something to relate to. The regressed subject states "If one were to come to this planet without the aid of imprints, we would be totally lost." Dolores has written the three volume set "Conversations With Nostradamus", the series on the translation of Nostradamus' quatrains. This series contains the translation of almost 1000 prophecies, all interpreted for the first time and have been in print since 1989. It is considered the most accurate interpretation of the prophecies ever printed. S: Well, when I'm in the body it feels heavy. It pulls on me. It's just uncomfortable. But when you die it's a lifting of weight. It's relaxing. People carry all those problems around. And it's like they are carrying around a weight because they are heavy and laden with all these other things. When you die it's like tossing them out the window and it feels good. It's a transition. S: That's not so bad. That's the easiest thing I'll ever do. It's, like the end of all confusion, until you start all over again, and then it's more confusion.

S: They're working. They're all busy ... contemplating what they have to do. I'm trying to get the hang of everything. In the final moments as we are moving beyond mortality into a non-physical state we just need to know that we are forever loved. What occurs between death and life, as revealed by numerous subjects through hypnotic past-life regression.

S: Of course, if they want to. They don't always want to. They want the sympathy and self-punishment and all sorts of things. People are funny. Everyone knows how to do these things if they take the time. They must find a way for themselves because they wouldn't believe it if you told them there was an easier way. They have to figure it out on their own. That's part of the lessons that get you there. Without a doubt, this is the worst book I’ve ever read. I wouldn’t have finished it if it hadn’t been a book club book. But it was, so I trudged through. The first few chapters weren’t so bad. There’s a lot of description of a fantastical spirit realm, with faeries and leprechauns as well as spirits of the forests and mountains. During the first couple of chapters I forgot that I was reading a non-fiction book. With stories of the Book of Life and the Threads of Fate I was fully prepared to read about fictional gods.S: Well, from where I am here it all seems so simple. I am in control. For instance, I can understand the fear, and the way I feel now; I feel like I couldn't be touched by it. Yet there's something about the human person. When you're there, it engulfs you. I mean, it becomes part of you and it touches you and it's not so easy to stand off and be objective. S: (Disgusted) Ohh! That old thing? It's down there! Ohh! I had no idea I looked so bad! I was so wrinkled and shriveled. I feel too good to be that shriveled. It was all wore out. (She was making sounds of delight.) Oh, oh, I'm so glad I'm here! D: That makes a lot of sense, You know one of the biggest fears people have is that they are so afraid of dying. After dying, there may be a period of confusion for some souls, but not all. It depends on the manner of death, whether it was natural, sudden or unexpected, peaceful or violent. Throughout all my past life regressions, the main thing I have found is the assurance that one is never alone after dying. We all are helped through the life after death experience. Dolores during a Hypnotherapy Course Class The many mispronunciations of even basic words by the narrators make it difficult to enjoy this audio book. I have this book in hard copy and read the book a few years ago.

Book critiques would give it 3 to 3.5 on a 5, but for me it is impossible to be objective and rate it as any other 'book'. I have no way of knowing for sure, the veracity of dialogues presented by the writer, yet I am willing to let it convince me. Not because it makes me positively delusional or complacent about life but it makes sense to me, it just fits in, in the grander scheme of things. I wish I had read it immediately after Brian Weiss's books or Laws of Spirit World. I can't wait to read Elizabeth Kubler-Ross now! One of my subjects was able to review her past life in an unconventional way. Although it's difficult to say what is conventional and what follows a set pattern when you're working in this field of regressive hypnotic research. What is the purpose of life? These are questions everybody asks. And no one is better qualified to provide reasonable answers than Dolores Cannon. During forty years of detailed research, this widely experienced and well-respected American past-life regression therapist has accumulated a mass of credible information about the death experience and what lies beyond. With death also comes wisdom. Something happens with the shedding of the physical body and a whole new dimension of knowledge opens up. Apparently the human being is limited and hampered by being in the physical. The personality or spirit that continues on is not hindered in this way and can perceive so much more than we can even imagine. Thus when I talked to these people after they had died, I was able to obtain the answers to many puzzling and perplexing questions-questions that have haunted humankind since the beginning of time. What the spirit reported depended upon the personal spiritual growth of that spirit. Some had more knowledge than others and were able to express it clearer in terms that were easier for us mortals to grasp. I will attempt to describe what they experienced by letting them speak for themselves. This book is a compilation of what many people reported. The writing style of author is simple, easy transcript of person who is being regressed is presented by the author. The book is the collection of conversation between author and various other regressed people who gives information on other side after death. The book is dividend in many chapters like the death experience, different level of existence in the spirit world, guides and guardian angel, ghosts and poltergeists, the birth experience etc. A tapestry exists whose threads or strings represent the lives of all souls, and can be accessed by advanced souls.

After this I was unable to get any more answers from her except that she was floating. I could tell by her expression and her breathing that she was in the resting place. When a subject goes there it is as if they have drifted into a deep sleep and they don't want to be disturbed. It is useless to try to question them because their answers will be incoherent.I HAVE BEEN ACCUSED of speaking to and communicating with the spirits of the dead, a definite no-no in religious circles. I had never thought of it in just that way, but I suppose it is true. With the exception that the dead with whom I speak are no longer dead, but are living again today and going about their daily lives. For, as you see, I am a regressionist. This is a popular term for a hypnotist that specializes in past-life regressions and historical research. S: Where all knowledge and everything is known. Everything is pure and simple. There is more pure truth here. You don't have the things of the world to confuse you. You have the truth on Earth but you just don't see it. D: No, it's because you're emotionally involved. It's always easy for somebody else to look at it and say, How simple. These are questions everybody asks. And no one is better qualified to provide reasonable answers than Dolores Cannon. During fifteen years of detailed research, this widely experienced and well-respected American past-life regression therapist has accumulated a mass of credible information about the death experience and what lies beyond.
