The Chicago Tribute wrote an article in 1993 about this “bizarre candy bar moniker”. The article was written shortly before the candy bar actually started distributing to the market. They also mention that people who tried the candy bar described it as spectacular. And again, in 2018, a variant of Nutrageous was released, which was named Reese’s Outrageous. What Makes Nutrageous Candy Unique? The nuts inside of the bar are roasted peanuts and then it has classic Reese’s peanut butter and some caramel in the center of the nuts. The consumers accepted the name pretty much, but in 2014, unfortunately, it was changed to Nut Bar by Hershey’s, and even its weight was reduced from 51-gram to 47-gram. Reese’s peanut pieces are not vegan as they contain whey, which is a milk product. They also have another problematic ingredient, resinous glaze. It’s neither a vegan or vegetarian ingredients as it’s made of bugs. So vegans and vegetarians should not consume any amounts of Reese’s pieces for this reason.
