The story is easy to follow and is split into four distinct parts, as the timeline of the progresses there really are four separate stages to Amber's journey.

There are too many references to social media, brands, designer clothes and make-up, that they divert the concentration in the middle of the book. This was not very likeable in the middle of family drama and sisterly fights. On the whole though, whether Pattison wrote this book single-handedly or employed the services of a ghost-writer, I thought this was a really great read, and I'm looking forward to reading more of her fiction work. In ‘A Christmas Kiss’ we meet Amber Raey. Amber is living in London and working hard to become a fashion designer. Fashion and designing is her big passion and she doesn’t remember a time where she didn’t want to become a designer. But to get to her dream she has to work hard and do some terrible jobs. But slowly working hard pays off. Amber gets herself a job interview at one of London most prestigious fashion houses and before she knows it, her life will never be the same. Huge dramas between two families and cute romances along the way. The ending was a perfect end to the book, hence the title. (Okay now, hush, it was just a tiny spoiler). This is my first book read that I'm reading fully and I'm happy right now with it. Five stars, more romance and drama, here I come! :DI wasn't particularly blown away by the men of the story, they both did their fair share of lying to the girls but overall they were perfectly nice. Three or four drinks,” her voiceover tells us over scenes of her downing about that number of limoncello shots as the night starts, “and I’m sociable, fun and I can function the next day. Any more and I don’t know when to stop. I’d go so far as to say I can’t stop.” As driven and ambitious as she is, she notes, it’s the one thing she can’t seem to control. The only downer that I have of this book is that the front cover, title and bio promise me a wonderfully festive read. However there is only a little bit that is set over the festive period. Which is a little bit of a let down. As I was looking forward to curling up with a delicious Christmas read. But nethertheless this is still a very sweet book

To start with what I liked, I loved the themes of friendship and family running through this book. Amber the main character has some fierce friendships and her family bond with her mother and sister is lovely. I also liked the references to local places to me and the ending although predictable was warm and fluffy. Very easy to read and impossible to put down; hence I read it in 15 hours (8 of which I was sleeping, then others spent cleaning house, preparing a family breakfast and the joy of Saturday swimming lessons at the local pool). While the documentary format was new for Pattison, she’s no stranger to being in front of a camera. First finding fame on 2011’s Geordie Shore – in her words, a “controversial reality show, notorious for featuring a cast of twenty-somethings involved in some serious boozing” – Pattison had her youthful overindulgence watched by millions. Not her, though: “I never watched Geordie Shore, ever”, she explained. “I have complicated feelings about what that show made me become.” Most of the book I enjoyed very much but it lost me a bit with some of the minor or secondary characters who I did not like nor believe in. The sisters themselves were a great duo. Throughout the book it is told by the viewpoints of Lizzie and Bex Ashworth who are sisters. I loved the alternate viewpoints and it felt like I really got to know the characters more rather than it just being one sided. There are also the occasional chapters told from the viewpoint of Nicole Balfour, I also felt they added to the story however I wish we learnt more about Nicole. Amber Raey dreams of designer her own line, but that isn't going to happen in her current job. Working as a an assistant to one of the country's top designers, Amber is more likely to be dog-sitting than designing. But when Amber is approached by the head of a major fashion house, it seems all her dreams are about to come true, especially when she meets an American heartthrob who propels her into his life of glamour.

I loved the bond she has with her flatmates, Tom and Jess and I can imagine the fun times the threesome have had over the years. They like to have a good time but they also look out for each other too. I also liked the friendship she forms with assistant Freddie and her new boss Alessandro is such a sweetheart and is so much more than a boss and becomes a real mentor for Amber. Was expecting a fuzzy, cozy, heartwarming Christmas read today on the day of Christmas ~duh~. Couldn’t say this book was all of them but it was definitely worth the 2.5 hrs and def an above avrg book. Then Amber meet someone an American heartthrob who shows her the glittering sights of an ilustrious career can bring. A lovely warming Christmas read. Full of sparkle, and love. I instantly liked Amber and found her a great main character. Amber is a sweet lovely girl with a heart of gold that makes a few mistakes like us all and had to make up for them. She loves her friends and family. She is guts and bulsey and a great main character. We watch her get ready for a night out with her girlfriends in Newcastle. She says she is much more contained than she was during her Geordie Shore years, and is looking forward to it (hell, we’re all looking forward to it – I haven’t been out or young for years), but – “I’m already sweating behind my knees thinking how poorly I’m going to be tomorrow.” Those slippery definitions, lubricated with the perspiration of hangovers and regret.I enjoyed the other characters but I felt we didn't get to know them as well as we should have, such as Jay and Lauren. It would have been good to have discovered more about them especially since they were the best friends of the sisters. I have a soft spot for stories based in the UK so expect British phrases, settings and culture woven throughout the story which examines the dynamics between sisters, how it evolves when big life changes occur especially when one sister had to take the mom role as well in raising the other.

Amber Raey has always dreamed of designing her own fashion label. But her boos is a true nightmare. Has Amber working all hours and doing menial tasks like taking her dog for a walk instead of using Amber to her full potential. Amber doesn't mind too much thou as she knows it is the first stepping stone to getting her new job. Lizzie is the one who is unable to hold down a job or boyfriend and is just floating through life with no real responsibilities. Shoppers demanded to know where the dress was from, with some saying they ‘need’ it in their wardrobe. One said: “Adore the striped dress,” with a second adding: “Where is your pastel stripe dress from in your 1st picture?” and another commenting: “Gorgeous. I need that first stripey dress.” Possibly this would suit someone younger than my age group who is more in to all things celeb. The way it is written suggests a younger readership and I suspect I was not really in the right decade to suit the style of the book. But it was a fun read nevertheless and I would recommend it to someone a bit younger. The story was very basic but was very interesting and entertaining to read. The premise is that Issy becomes part of 'Can You Cut It?' and the whole book is her time on the show and in the contestants shared apartment. I loved reading all of this as it reminded me so much of Big Brother, a show I absolutely love! There are two major love interests in the book, the one you are rooting for the whole way through, and the other which I was enjoying to start with, but within one relationship, Amber soon learnt just who she can count on. I love Ambers flat mates and friends Tom and Jess they are exactly the kind of friends a girl needs in her life as they are there for her throughout and they all have lots of fun and happy times together. A perfect summer read: full of sunshine and light breezes with occasional thunderstorms that clear up with rainbows at the end.
