I sit on the couch and look at the savage, grisly scene before me, and I try to think of how someone normal would react to it. They have a conversation while Helen is consuming a dead baby and he tells her that he isn’t going to tell anyone about her activities if she keeps his own a secret and this act forges a bond between the pair.

In contrast to MC she actually longs to be “normal” but at the same time she is much more able to share her darkness with someone else.He manages to lace a layer of pleasure into his reading that really fits the main character almost too well, and that’s definitely what you want with an Audiobook.

A deep sense of adventure that can only be quenched by chasing anything that can and should be over indulged. Helen is persistent and makes her presence known in his life which he doesn’t appreciate, things become even more complicated when Helen tells him that she is pregnant with his baby. Let me tell you, there's a particular scene featuring a dead fetus that left me feeling dirty and violated just for reading it.It was like watching a car crash victim being scraped up off of the pavement, you don’t want to watch but you just can’t bring yourself to avert your gaze.

I spread her legs a little wider and mount her, groaning as I slide myself into the cold dryness of her unlubricated vaginal canal. I feel bad giving this such a harsh review, but I have to say my piece: the main character is so focused on being as much of an antisocial edgelord as he possibly can be, it overshadows the gruesomeness of the entire plot. The shock value is real and truly a selling point in reading something like this because I’ve never read a book that had a ton of OMG and WTF moments that blew my mind. These two social outcasts’ lives intertwine taking their personal perversions to all new, unfathomable levels of extreme.Something I did like about this book is that for the most part it didn’t feel like the author was 100% going for shock value to sell this. We follow an unnamed narrator as he goes about explaining and indulging in his unconventional proclivities and then he meets a girl. That being said, with the horror genre you very much have to take responsibility for yourself and if you do read extreme horror then that’s up to you. So if you’re looking for a Bonnie and Clyde or Mickey and Mallory kind of wild romance– this is not where you will find it. Those are the questions that are swimming through the greymatter within my skull after having just finished reading DEAD INSIDE by Chandler Morrison.
