Of course, you may be able to put a lot of it down to misguided first loves and hormones, but I am not sure if that covers it all. Komatsu, who had persuaded Punpun to join the middle school badmitton club with him, is the only underclassman allowed to skip boring drills and do normal practices. School starts up again, but Punpun doesn't feel like talking to his classmates, and Aiko is noticeably sullen. This volume has a side story telling the background of his uncle, how he starts dating again and the woman moves in with them. The other three crawl out, but Shimizu says he's going back for Aiko and Punpun and lets the door drop. You think the mother is terrible and then she’s not but also is because she never wanted to show it and she only tramples her good deed by throwing it in Punpun’s face at the worst time!

Later GX published his series Subarashii Sekai, available in English from VIZ Media as What a Wonderful World! Some of the facial expressions and character designs in this are just really unappealing and annoying. The first volume felt a bit disjointed in terms of what the story would become, or what it was attempting to do, but in this volume, the themes and overall tone have begun to gel, and the form the story is taking is equal times monstrous as it is touching. I was worried that Asano was slowly pushing her away - something that was important to Punpun in his youth but not something that had any place in his nearly-adult life.
