One of the more significant issues that reviewers and gamers have had with the game is the considerable amount of glitches, technical issues and the high difficulty spike that the game seems to go through. For example, the game becomes more complicated regarding boss battles. However, the rest of the game still shares that same difficulty in certain areas that seem like they need to be put in the right place. If those were better ironed out, many more players would enjoy the gameplay. For example, the boss fights are based around the lost pet you find in that level area, with unique boss designs. I had been ready to dub Kukoos: Lost Pets a pretty flawed but ultimately alright kind of a game, but at this point I can’t even give it that. It’s got flaws, but it’s also simply broken in some way as well. From what I can tell, there are four worlds (unless there’s some secret one once you finish, which there may well be), and at the point that I had to stop, the game had me at about 24% total completion, though I wasn’t exactly trying very hard to get every collectable. Rabid Meet a charismatic cast of characters along the way, brought to life through beautiful cinematics and fully voiced dialogue, adding depth and emotion to the story.

However, at the Happy Pet Day award ceremony, something goes wrong. Frog turns berserk, and so do all the other creatures soon after. The Kukoomand isn’t making the pets behave; it’s turning them wild! There are four doors in the Kukoo Tree, each leading to a unique world. Within each world, there are five missions to complete, including a boss battle arena. Ready for the boss battle? Join the Kukoos in their quest to find their aggressive and unruly pets after a failed experiment and restore harmony to their once peaceful home. Okay, before we get into this review, I have to fully admit that I did not finish this game to the end. We’ll get into why that is in a little bit, but I think it’s important to say that up front when I’m reviewing a game. It’s a shame that I couldn’t make it to the end, but let’s at least look at what I was able to finish! What exactly is this colorful looking game that’s landed on my Nintendo Switch. Still, I suppose I should talk a little bit about the art and sound of this game because I did have a few thoughts about them, even in the short time that I was able to play. The art style is not one that I am personally fond of. It looks cute enough, I suppose, in that way that every 3D platformer tries to be these days, but I just personally found the character designs to be a little on the ugly side. For some people they might find them cute or ugly-cute, but for me they weren’t my cup of tea.
