The emotional beats were fantastic, especially as Dick and the greater Bat family are still dealing with Alfred’s death. With all this new found money Dick is now a billionaire, and wants to make a difference in Bludhaven.

Dick Grayson’s big heart has protected those persecuted by bullies in his youth, combated evil alongside Batman as Robin, and pledged his newly inherited wealth to enriching Bludhaven as Nightwing. Gone are the days of beating up pickpockets; now we’re asking why this rich city has so many people starving for cash. I need to read more comics), there’s someone going around the city stealing peoples hearts and a new mayor has been appointed that Nightwing believes works for Maroni. With the Bat-Team s comms unreliable, Nightwing heads to Gotham to find the source of Anti-Oracle s transmissions. The best thing about this volume by far is the terrific art by Bruno Redondo, with coloring by Adriano Lucas.Other aspects though are transparently sentimental like when Dick gets a new pet puppy (kinda like Jonathan the actual wolverine in All-New Wolverine).

I was going to hold off until maybe this got turned into an omnibus, or something, but with all the rave I just got the urge to jump in. This is why Dick’s new struggle of inheriting vast wealth is an equally intriguing and troublesome angle. You’re given an answer to that dilemma by the end, but the surplus of villains within these pages mostly linger on the fringes of the narrative. Melinda Zucco seems more promising although that storyline ends up playing out in a soap opera-y way. Who is this terrifying new menace named Heartless, and will he be able to resist plucking out the biggest heart in all of Blüdhaven?On top of that, fans of Barbara Gordon will be happy with her prominence in this series, especially in regards to her romantic relationship with Dick. I saw a couple editing mistakes, and I already know the kind of corporate production these comics go through, vetted by everyone, so I was put off on page two already a bit.
