It is made with the same combination of distinctive botanicals as original Liverpool Gin which has an intense juniper and complex, well-balanced botanical flavour over a rich cereal note with a bright citrus finish – the refreshing Valencian Orange Liverpool Gin has the addition of the zesty citrus notes of oranges from Valencia. D1 London Gin was awarded the highest, Masters, medals for the Super Premium and Contemporary categories of the global Gin Masters 2014 based on blind tastings by industry experts. Fruit, cream, herbs, spices, flowers or nuts are the traditional choices, but you will also find some more imaginative creations on the internet including various candy concoctions such as Skittle Vodka. J.J Whitley follows a tradition born of eight generations of distillers and our range is inspired by the flavours of English gardens and hedgerows.

Whitley Neill Quince Gin is a premium handcrafted dry gin inspired by the timeless flavours of Persia – the first gin of its kind in the UK. Our Nettle Liqueur is definitely a more earthy affair than that, but is equally simple to make, and really tastes rather good. The story goes that the Pink Lady died of a broken heart shortly after her true love, a brave Scots knight, died in battle defending Stirling castle in 1304. This started the wheels in motion and whilst out walking their dog and discussing potential botanicals they realised the answer was literally all around them – the Stirlingshire nettle.This creates an irresistible caramelised piece of heaven, which they then combine with one of their classic gins. And best of all – all it requires is a bit of sugar, some gin, your chosen fruit and time for everything to infuse together. A product with strong botanical flavours might not mix well with extra additions, whereas a classic London Dry-style gin with more neutral notes would take on flavours better. There’s certainly no shortage of flavoured gins in the supermarkets these days – everything from violets and geraniums to blood oranges and grapefruits make their way into the staunchly British spirit.

This Blood Orange Gin is the latest addition to the range… and judging by how good Malfy Con Limone is, we are sure that it will not disappoint!
