The book ends on a cliffhanger. It’s somewhat intriguing, but I certainly won’t be reading the sequel. If for whatever reason, after reading this review, you’re still inclined to read Once Upon a Broken Heart, you might want to hold off on doing so until the sequel is out, as this will leave you with too many loose plot threads and unanswered questions – more than any book should. He was still indescribably breathtaking, but it was all the tragic beauty of a sky where every single star was falling.” this book made me remember that my answer to the age old question, “if you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be?” is the world of caraval.

After this book I’m a firm believer in this. The last part doesn’t require to them obviously, because they WILL get their happily ever after. No discussion there. eva our innocent naive little fox. she’s such an unreliable narrator. but i also loved seeing her thought process sometimes. she makes dumb decisions but i also understand them for the most part. The writing is not that bad but tbh it's not special either. I've heard people say it's quite beautifully written and maybe it was like that for them- but it came across as ordinary to me. I was more invested in it cause of the main characters and the storyline. Evangeline became easily one of my favourite fmc ever. She is not a fighter, she is not ruthless, she is not the underdog that rises from nothing. She is a girl who believes in infinite happy endings, oddities and is curious about what is going on around her. She is what a 17 yo should be and more. She thought that her first love was THE LOVE and couldn’t pass her own heartbreak. Update, April 15: If you've been waiting for a signed US edition, Barnes and Noble has just announced their exclusive edition--it has bonus material, a secret cover printed on the hardcover case, and it's PINK!stephanie garber, WHAT IF I WAS SUICIDAL. WHAT IF THAT WAS MY LAST STRAW. how am i supposed to live, laugh, love in these conditions—that ending was just rude. all that angst, sexual tension, JEALOUSY, hurting, THE PUSH AND PULL BETWEEN THEM, would kill anyone for her, the denial of their love for each other but it’s obvious that they’re each others one true love, JUST TO GIVE THEM THAT ENDING?!! FOR WHAT?? NOTHING 😭

Once Upon a Broken Heart marks the launch of a new series about love, curses, and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after from #1 New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Garber Broken hearts, happily never afters and more curses than you could ever imagine… the ‘Once Upon A Broken Heart’ series by Stephanie Garber is such a magical trilogy, and one we have loved sharing with you over the years. We know this a reprint many of you have been hoping for, and we’re so excited we could make this happen to share our adoration for this series with you all! but other than that devastation (!!) another favourite this was perfection. i love this even more than ouabh. tbona had everything i was so excited for before. evangeline wanted to give love and be loved and feel love at just the sight of someone. she wanted butterflies and kisses. she wanted it so much that sometimes she thought her heart would burst from it.'Winning at love was less about succeeding in a battle and more about continuing to fight, to choose the person you loved as the one you were willing to die for, over and over.” Update (January 23, 2023): Cosmopolitan has just revealed the US cover for CURSE along with the official book summary and an exclusive interview, where I might spill a few secrets. Here's think link for everyone interested: https://www.cosmopolitan.c Update (January 23, 2023): Cosmopolitan has just revealed the US cover for CURSE along with the official book summary and an exclusive interview, where I might spill a few secrets. Here's think link for everyone interested: https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertai... Why. Just why. WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS?? I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG AND THEN YOU GIVE ME THIS?? marisol i hate you kys- her act didn't fool me at all she's fake inside & out just like her snake of a mother And we’re saying love now?? SCREAMING RN. I couldn’t get over that and it was one time. Please give us more Stephanie

i'm really struggling in the every single way to rate this. on the one hand, it wasn't the worst book i've read, on the other hand, it dragged on quite a bit - it felt like i've been reading this book forever. i was so afraid of falling into a reading slump because of that The secret to staying in love is having someone who will catch you when you start to fall out of it. And I promise to always catch you." She wanted butterflies and kisses. She wanted it so much that sometimes she thought her heart would burst from it.” Soler embodies a fairy-tale world full of vibrant characters with unique voices . . . This sultry fantasy will leave listeners guessing to the very end." — AudioFile Magazine Have you already forgotten the way heartbreak rips apart the soul piece by piece, how it turns you into a masochist, making you long for the thing that just eviscerated you until there’s nothing left of you to be destroyed?”An explosively rich fairy tale that takes place inside an intricate world that’s weaved with fast-paced plot and intriguing twists.” — BuzzFeed she held him as if he were hers and she were his, and there was nothing else between them. no curses. no lies. no past wounds or mistakes. she held him as if there was only now, as if nothing mattered but this moment.' Thank you for the warning everyone because I truly can’t grasp how it ended on that cliffhanger?? This book gaslit me with all the cute moments but I also did the same She used to think love was like a house. Once it was built, a person got to live in it forever. But now she wondered if love was more like a war with new foes constantly appearing and battles creeping up. Winning at love was less about succeeding in a battle and more about continuing a fight, to choose the person you loved as the one you were willing to die for, over and over." i think that the guilt aspect of this book wasn’t bad. there wasn’t any repetition and it isn’t mentioned constantly or anything which definitely shows character development since she’s written caraval. i appreciated the way that evangeline’s emotions were portrayed bc i loved it. it wasn’t spectacular or anything but it definitely was far from bad. i felt like there wasn’t much drama in this book.
