This makes for some awesome looking keyboard set-ups. Some of our favorite pudding keycapsare by HyperX, they are quite affordable and are a nice upgrade for any mechanical keyboard.

Anyway, I am just learning. Thinking about getting an upgrade on my Redragon keyboard. It ain't much, but it works!Hi there! I'm the author of this guide. I actually do talk about it, but in regard to spherical and cylindrical. Those rounded retro caps are spherical. You can usually tell them because they often have "SA" somewhere in the name: SA, DSA, ASA, OSA. There is also MT3 profile from Drop. It's important to note that the height of those profiles can be different and is often less than true SA keycaps. Really, SA with most others refers to two things (usually): 1) they have a rounded shape, and 2) they're probably a bit taller than Cherry profile. But that second one isn't a given with how often brands release modifications to different profiles. CannonKeys' has a great custom profile called CXA that's rounded but also about the same height as cherry and is honestly one of my favorites. ABS is better for color, PBT is better for longevity. While each type of plastic has fans claiming it’s the best, each has its benefits. ABS plastic is better for showing vibrant colors but is prone to shining with extended use. PBT won’t wear down in the same way but isn’t as colorful and is more susceptible to warping. Additionally, the Tai-Hao Ocean Blue ABS Keycap Set comes in a beautiful ocean-themed colorway that is sure to make your keyboard stand out. The set includes 104 keys in the ANSI layout (North American layout), making them compatible with all cherry compatible switches. OEM keycaps are known for their durability and reliability. They are often made from high-quality materials such as ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) or PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate), which ensures long-lasting usage.

Yes, OEM keycaps are generally compatible with Cherry MX switches. Both OEM keycaps and Cherry MX switches adhere to a standardized keycap mounting system known as the Cherry MX stem.

The number of keycaps on a keyboard depends on the keyboard's layout. Most standard mechanical keyboards have 104 keycaps, including alphanumeric keys, function keys, number pad, navigation keys, and various control keys. However, smaller keyboards, such as 60% or 75% layouts, have fewer keycaps, typically around 61 to 87 keys. There are many more profiles as well, they are just more uncommon are harder to get ahold of. You can see more variations in the picture below. The main benefits are the aesthetics as you are able to choose the color and design of the keycaps which will allow the RGB lighting to flourish. OEM keycaps are also more durable than other types of keycaps, making them a good choice for gamers.

This results in a smooth surface and comfortable hand feel. The Matcha color adds a unique and cute touch to the keycaps, making them an excellent gift for keyboard enthusiasts. The Tai-Hao Ocean Blue OEM Profile Doubleshot ABS Keycaps are a great option for those looking to upgrade their keyboard’s appearance and functionality. Made from high-quality plastic material, the keycaps are durable and resistant to high temperatures, frictions, and wearing, ensuring they can withstand long-term use.

OEM profile keycaps have a sculpted design, meaning that the shape and height of the keycaps vary between rows. The IDOBAO Matcha OEM Profile Dye-Sub PBT Keycaps are an excellent choice for those looking to upgrade their mechanical keyboard. These keycaps are made of high-quality Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) material, which provides a smooth and comfortable feel while typing. Therefore, you can typically use OEM keycaps on keyboards with Cherry MX switches without any compatibility issues. This interchangeability allows users to customize their keyboards by swapping out the keycaps while keeping the same switches. Cherry and OEM profile keycaps are very similar in design and sculpt. However, Cherry profile keycaps are slightly shorter and are harder to come by when searching for custom keycaps. OEM profile keycaps are usually on many prebuilt mechanical keyboards and is probably what most people have typed on before. The stem is the part of the switch where the keycap attaches. It consists of a cross-shaped stem with four legs. OEM keycaps are designed to have corresponding keycap stems that fit onto Cherry MX switches. It’s a good idea to try out both profiles if possible or seek recommendations from fellow gamers to find the keycap profile that suits you best. Are OEM profile keycaps good? Left Shift Key: The left Shift key is usually larger than the right Shift key in ANSI layouts, typically around 2.25u or 2.75u. Why is it that Cherry profile keycaps are so hard to find? And when you do find them, why do they cost so much more than OEM profile keycaps? What are Cherry Profile Keycaps? Keychron K8 with Cherry Keycaps

The YMDK Carbon OEM Profile Doubleshot PBT Shine Keycaps are a top choice for those in need of high-quality keycaps for their mechanical keyboard. These keycaps are designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable typing experience, with a durable construction and an attractive design. In terms of style, the Gray White Red colorway is classic and timeless. The OEM profile of the keycaps is also a popular choice for those who prefer a slightly taller and more angled keycap design than the lower-profile Cherry profile. If you’re looking to improve typing speed, try exploring other typing techniques or do regular speed tests to try and improve. Durability and Quality : High-quality keycaps with well-printed legends (letters/symbols) can last longer and maintain their appearance over time. This is especially important if you use your keyboard heavily.

Comfortable Typing: OEM keycaps have a slightly taller profile, which can provide a more comfortable typing experience for many users. The increased keycap height allows for better finger positioning and can reduce the strain on your hands during long gaming sessions. In addition, by customizing the profile design you will have a keycap set that feels comfortable and efficient to type on. Overall, OEM profile keycaps are a popular choice for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts who value comfort, durability, and customization options. These layouts have distinct differences in keycap sizing and arrangement:
